I hate dealing with insurance companies

My medical insurance is all up to date for 2014, with a re-setting for all fertility treatment lifetime maximums (YAY!).  Somehow, the medication insurance company didn't get the memo, and when I went to pick up my Rx refill, they wanted to charge me $1,000+ for one 900 IU Gonal-F pen and a box of Menopur (five 75ml vials).  Um, no.  So I spent 2 hours last night on the phone trying to get it resolved and didn't get anything resolved at all.  I tried to impress upon the folks last night that I needed to resolve this by today because I only had enough meds for this morning.  Of course, here it is almost 3:00 PM EST and I've heard nothing from anyone.  So, I'm likely going to have to bite the bullet and buy the damn meds and then file a claim for reimbursement.  SO annoying.  Thankfully, I'm likely triggering tomorrow night (pending tomorrow morning's bloodwork).  GRRRRRR!

  • It must be nice to have IF coverage.

  • Awww that sucks. Insurance companies are a pain to deal with sometimes. I don't have any IF coverage (big bummer) but I use a lot of the other types of things and always have to pay up front and "hope" they will cover it. I normally don't end up fighting them even when I think that they are wrong. Though of course I would for over $1000.
