Hi everyone!!

I am pretty new to The Bump! My husband and I have been been TTC for 2 months now. I am anxiously waiting until Saturday to take a PT to see if we are preggers or not! We got married May 18 2013 and waited until this June to go on our honeymoon to Greece and Ireland. We decided to start trying then. First month went by and negative so now we are in month 2 and I am freaking out to say the least! My anxiousness stems from a few things I think.

1) So many people who are pregnant now have said they "got it first try!". I completely know that it differs from body to body but I just really wanted it to be us that could say that too. So now it's month 2 and I am not sure if we conceived or not. I may be being dramatic but all I can think about is a baby!!!!

2) A friend of mine had what I believe is called a hysterical pregnancy? Basically she had a positive PT then when it was time for the ultra sound there was actually no baby... It was terrible for her and now I am paranoid that because I want the baby so bad my body will just think it's pregnant when it's not.

3) I just REALLY want to go shopping for baby things!! HA HA HA!!!!

 

Anyway ladies! I am really excited to be a member of a great community with (hopefully) other crazy potential mothers like me!

    My mistake- it was a chemical pregnancy. Sorry! Didn't mean for it to sound "all sorts of crazy...."

    Yes sorry for the mis-use of words everyone!! Chemical pregnancy not hysterical pregnancy is what I meant for comment #2.

    Has anyone also found it difficult to deal with pressure from in laws or parents about getting pregnant?

    My in laws are GREAT! However, they do have a unique situation. Their oldest son is 36. He has downs syndrome and lives at home with them, and their daugther is in her thirties with no children yet. Shane (my hubby) is the youngest at 28, married etc... His mother has said that she really REAAAAALLY wants grand babies because she has been waiting longer since realistically, she could've been a grandmother years ago. I feel that maybe that has to do with my anxiety about getting pregnant right away because so many people want this baby! Which, is going to be great when it does happen, but I just don't want people holding their breath and butting in.

    Is there a way to be polite about that? ha ha.

    Seriously I came on here yesterday asking how to cope with the TWW and was given some great advice. Stop comparing yourself to others. Instantly felt more sane. I got AF this afternoon and I am feeling none of the normal sadness or regret, I am feeling grateful that I can try again and that it is still early. 
    Perspective is a great thing. 2 months is nothing when TTC. It may be normal PMS driving you up the walls, and thats ok, you get a new shot each month :)
    Good luck, and try and make it fun. The girls above gave some great advice on charting, look into it, it will really help you understand your cycle. 
     
     
     
    Thanks so much!! :) I think keeping it fun is definitely important. Maybe it's because we are so new to it that I am being a paranoid crazy person. haha!

    1st Trimester is a great board for crazy soon-to-be mothers.  We try to keep the crazy to a minimum here.

    cstuart07: gotta love marrying the baby of the family!! ha!

    Thanks for all the advice everyone!! Luckily I haven't started buying anything yet- just window shopping via pinterest. I think I was just having a stress day yesterday! (Maybe it was the PMS talking! ha ha!) I also own my own wedding planning/decorating business so I am surrounded by hormonal brides all day! Maybe it was rubbing off on me! ;)
