leg aches

Is anyone experiencing this?  My leg muscles ache so badly going up hills or stairs.  It is mostly my calves, but it goes up into my thighs as well.  I try to drink tons of water, but that's not helping.  People have suggested eating bananas, but they are high in sugar and I have gestational diabetes...I also eat spinach and avocados, which also have potassium.  I will mention it to my OB, but I was just curious if anyone else is experiencing it.

Re: leg aches

  • I get leg cramps at night and the only thing that has worked for me is to drink powerade/gatorade or coconut water sometime in the afternoon.  Coconut water is high in potassium and a few other vitamins like sports drinks minus the sugar/artificial sweeteners.

  • I need to get some plain coconut water--I have the pineapple juice one and it has more sugar.

I never get cramps, just a consistent achey feeling, like my muscles are exhausted. Maybe it is just from carrying my weight differently, I don't know. Even in pilates, my legs--normally very strong--feel exhausted after very few reps:(

  • Last week I had realllly achey legs. But it felt like it was my bones, not muscles. It went away but was annoying while it lasted.

It almost feels like it goes into the bones.  I added some coconut pineapple water to my drinking water to try and get some more potassium!  I figure if I water it down and don't drink the whole thing, it can't be too bad for me.

  • I will look into support stockings, but I can't do GatorAde, sadly, because of my gd diagnosis.  I hope that that helps others that can drink it, though!
