Cloth Diapering

How long do TT's last?

I traded for a NIP fusion a few months ago and when I was doing wash the other day, I noticed the smallest tear around the seam on the legs.  This diaper can't be more than 3 months old and I've already got a hole!!??  I don't put them in the dryer (except maybe sometimes the inserts).  Is this normal wear and tear?  It definitely made me slow down on wanting more, if this is a sign of how long I should expect them to last.

Also, I saw someone recommend Fray Check on the BST page, so I'm going to try that.  But I'm really disappointed.

Re: How long do TT's last?

  • I don't know if I'd call that "normal" wear and tear. Mine are all 6 months old and still look perfectly new. And I dry mine on low every time (other than weekends, when I line dry outside) because they take forever to hang dry inside.

That is disappointing. Hopefully it's atypical?

I hope so.  I wonder if it is the material.  I have no idea what the name is but the material is like a thin knit (definitely not Euro knit).  Its not as thick as some of the knits I have.
