Hello ladies well I will be 23 weeks tomorrow and the countdown to Vday is on for me!  I cannot wait to hit that milestone.  I have an OB appointment on Friday, but I am sure she will tell me everything is going great.  I am going to ask her about heartburn tho.  I took Prevacid before I got pregnant and it is not doing the trick, I am taking that plus the max amount of tums… so I am hoping she has a solution.  Other than that I am doing great!  Ellie is kicking around in there like she is playing dance dance revolution or something and I could not love it any more.  Every movement makes me think she is telling me HI and that I am nothing thinking about her right now and I should be. J  We finally built the nursery furniture and its starting to come together.  I am also diligently working on my registry because my shower (ugh) is on Sept 6^th and I have not even started yet! DH and I are planning on going to scan everything on Saturday but that means I have to do all of the research before then!  Ugh… I am sure I will have a lengthy post on the nursery and baby gear soon!

I hope you all are doing great and I am looking forward to the updates!

QOTW:  When I was a kid we did these amazing Easter Egg hunts after Church.  My dad (Ellie’s Pops) will be doing the egg hunt in the future for her so I am looking forward to my little girl kicking her boy cousins butts at that (everyone in the family knows she will)!  I am also looking forward to Christmas mornings with her.. Get up see what Santa brought then go to Church, have breakfast, open presents, then head to the family gathering for Christmas dinner.  I can’t wait.

Hey ladies,

I am 15 weeks and 5 days!  Going on 16 weeks this week   We had our announcement photos done last night and got a sneak peak photo of it today and I love it!  If you want to see it, it is posted on Jennifer Hosking Photography Facebook page!  Let me know what you guys think. It is just a teaser, will be getting rest of photos end of week. 

I'm not liking or commenting on photo, don't want it to end up in my newsfeed and announce our pregnancy for us! 

My mother in law took me shopping for my outfit at Destination Maternity, so I'm wearing maternity jeans and shirt for first time!  Soo comfy btw

QOTW:  So my family never really had holiday traditions and things, I always admire how my mom in law makes sure family eats at the table together, gives us easter baskets every year (even as adults), and things like that.  I would like to have traditions like hers when our baby comes   My family cooks and celebrates holidays but we don't sit down together, always eat in front of tv etc, so definitely don't plan on keeping my family's traditions :P

17 weeks.  I posted yesterday about my early anatomy scan.  Baby looked good- I got to see the brain. stomach. fingers, toes etc.  Baby is in the 48% for weight which they said was good. When i met with the OB after he said everything was good with all of my bw and my family genetic issue did not show in the scan. However, a hyperechoic bowel was seen.  He didn't give me too much info on it but said he wasn't concerned and it usually resolves itself and since my BW was normal he thinks its nothing.  So now I have a call into the MFM to see what they think and will probably go in for a scan.  I hope everything is okay. I was just starting to  feel excited after we got the panarama results and found out its a boy but now I'm back to worrying.

@Ashris13 Yay for counting down to V-day!! That is a great milestone! Also, check out Lucie's List online for ideas on what to get for baby/register for. It is a great site!! Have fun registering! We do plan on finding out the sex at our a/s. Originally, we weren't going to, but after losing one of the twins and having a hard time connecting to this pregnancy, we're hoping that helps us a little.

AFM, this week I've felt some stronger kicks, punches, rolls, something or other and I absolutely LOVE it!! This baby seems to be much more active in the evening (just like me) so I enjoy sitting on my couch and just waiting for him/her to give me a good wallop in my gut! I'm still in a lot of denial that this is actually happening though. Even though I look pregnant and there's no hiding it at this point, I also look a little like I do after endo surgery, so that really plays with my mind. I think I'll only believe it when I'm holding the baby in my arms. Once I start to make it to more milestones, like the a/s, V-day, 3rd tri, etc, I might be able to relax a little more.

QOTW: Oh holidays! They are all my favorite! We do them up big time here. I think Christmas is my all time favorite. We decorate our house, cut down our tree, do the stupid elf thing (should have never started that dumb thing!), bake cookies, visit family, and do Santa up big time. I plan on doing all of this with the new LO and hope he/she carries on the traditions with his/her family. However, a few years ago, I had a miscarriage a couple of weeks before Christmas. While I play it up, it has really put a damper on celebrating for me. With this baby being due on Christmas Eve, it's the most amazing gift and hopefully helps to heal some of the pain that comes during December.

Not a whole lot for me to update here. I started feeling light movement last week for a few days, but then it seemed to stop this weekend (I have my doppler so I know everything is OK in there, so I'm not worried). I'm guessing they must've switched positions? So frustrating! I want to feel you, babies!

Also, the knee I injured running last year has started acting up, so I'm kind of limping around. I'm guessing it was the 30+lb of weight gain. Not really sure what I can do about it, though. Hoping I don't end up in a knee brace. Totally not loving living in a two-story house right about now.

QOTW: We celebrated holidays, but I can't think of anything that our family did that was special or unique to us. We're kind of boring.

20+3 today, sounds so weird to say. it just seems like yesterday i was seeing that flickering hb! the first tri passed SO slowly for me, it's hard to believe that i'm halfway through the 2nd already. I've had some really bad round ligament pain the past few days - the doc even checked to make sure it wasn't appendicitis, or my cervix shortening, but I keep telling myself is all is well with the babe, I can take it. I'm also going to vegas for work this week...last year, it was a blast, but this year, I'm totally going to go to bed early. 

QOTW: my mom was never huge on traditions, so I don't really have many to "pass down" but we definitely look forward to making our own. with the baby being born so close to the holidays, we know that Christmas will always be super special! i'm a huge baker so i'm sure that will be incorporated!

19w5d today.  The second scan went well.  We had a brief scare when we were told that they noticed an echogenic focus (a little spot) on the baby's heart.  We were reassured that there was nothing to worry about because the Harmony test results were normal.  The ultrasound tech told us and then we had to wait an hour to see the doctor to put our fears to rest... that hour felt like forever!  We were googling away in the waiting room - never a good idea!  Anyway, all is well and our next appointment is on the 11th.  Now we are starting to do some research before putting together our registry.

QOTD: The only real tradition that I can think of that I plan to keep is that on Christmas eve the adults open their presents and the kids get to open just one present (usually Christmas PJs and a book).  I always loved that growing up.

Update: Sorry I missed last week. Things have been nuts, but everything's good with the baby, so it's all ok. Not much to report this week except a scare last night. Our 18 month old puppy found a way out of our fenced in yard and it was a few minutes before I noticed she was gone. I had to chase her around the neighborhood, while she ran in front of several cars, for about 10 minutes and thankfully was able to catch her. DH wasn't home from work yet. I'm not a runner, even pre-pregnancy, so I was terribly afraid I hurt the baby. I've felt him moving since, so I'm feeling a little better about it, but I still reserve the right to totally freak out before this day is over and go to the OB. We had already signed the puppy up for a second round of beginner's obedience classes, so hopefully this will never happen again!

QOTW: DH was raised Jewish and I was raised Catholic, but we are both now practicing Unitarian Universalists. DH doesn't want to celebrate any Jewish holidays, but is ok with my family traditions, so we will have Christmas and Easter and stuff. Just with less Jesus and more food and family.

@Ashris13 For our registry I used a combination of Lucie's List, the Baby Bargains book, and amazon.com product reviews.  It took at least a month to decide on everything and set it up, but it's so much fun!

I don't have a lot to update, still having heartburn and started to get some cramps off an on, which is messing with my mind, but didn't have any yesterday or yet today.  I think that my sister sent our shower invitations out, and on Friday I'm going to a big baby/kid consignment sale and am really excited!

QOTW- no real traditions beyond the normal stuff like church on Christmas Eve, visiting grandparents in the afternoon on Christmas, easter egg hunt around the house on Easter morning.  I am looking forward to starting some traditions with this baby though!  Maybe opening a present or stockings on Christmas Eve, making something delicious for breakfast as a tradition, something else fun.  We'll see!

YAY for getting so close to V-day, @ashris13.

All is well here. I had my anatomy scan with my OB today.  Since we did such an in depth one with the MFM we basically just got to check on the baby and watch her move. I love getting to see her. Everything still looks great. 

So, all the furniture has been ordered and it has all arrived except for the glider which should be here next week. The quote to do the floors in that one room was outrageous so we decided the money was better spent just having people come do a deep clean of the carpets and the air vents and painting. So the painters will be here Saturday to paint the nursery! EEK! I am ready to start getting things set up.

QOTW:  My mom was big on holiday traditions and I definitely intend to continue those.  My husband has already been a good sport about integrating them all into our holidays.  We carve pumpkins for Halloween.  We watch the Macy's parade on Thanksgiving, and have a million Christmas traditions including baking and decorating sugar cookies.

Will be 15 weeks tomorrow, and finally got the results from the Panorama test back. Everything came back fine with the baby, and we found out we're having a girl! Very exciting, looking forward to enjoying the rest of this pregnancy!!!

@ashris13 - yay for almost to vday!!  I'm exactly 2 weeks from it myself and I cannot wait.  I feel like the 20 week/anatomy scan was a hurdle and now the next one is vday!  Also, my sister (not cousin!) found out she is also having a girl.  We are due close to each other, so it will be exciting.

Nothing much to report this week, other than DH finally feeling her move!!  He was excited and since she is moving around like crazy, I'm sure he will request to do a few more belly rubs soon .  We are doing a mini babymoon in mid-Aug and trying to figure out where to go. I just want to relax and debating the beach or not. 

QOTW: We doln't have any "different" holiday traditions, so I'm sure we will just continue celebrating like we always to!  Wondering if Thanksgiving will be her first holiday (due 11/25) or Christmas!

I'll be 21 wks tomorrow. I can't wait till Vday. I have 2 friends that both lost twins around 23 wks so it make me nervous. But I did ask about my cervical length yesterday and she said it was 5 cm, which is still nice and long so that's a little comforting.

I had some friends give me baby girl clothes. I sorted through them and omg I was on cuteness overload! I also went through DS old clothes to make sure I have the appropriate clothes and I do. But if babies need preemie clothes I'll have to get some.

QOTW: we are not big on holidays but at least do the bare minimum like trick or treat at Halloween, Christmas tree, basic stuff like that.

Stimming is going fine. I will trigger tonight and have retrieval Thursday. My E2 was 3600 yesterday, so I am definitely feeling it!

The tricky part is that I am flying out from Chicago to San Diego on Saturday to attend a conference with two students. Hoping recovery goes well!

We also have a fetal heart echo on Thursday. So here is our next couple of days:

1. Travel two hours (into another time zone) tomorrow night to stay the night before retrieval

2. Thur is retrieval, then two hour drive back (sucks!) home. Then mh is going to travel an hour north that afternoon to go to Squirt's appointment. I have never missed one, but there is just no option this time. MH drives the hour back home, have I mentioned that I have a wonderful husband?

3. Drive to Chicago (3.5 h) on Sat. to fly to San Diego with students

4. Return home next Wed.

After that, I am off (required) work until Aug. 25th when the semester starts. Whew!

QOTW: We are very involved in our church, so most holidays (Christmas, Easter) revolve around that. I am excited to go to Christmas Eve service with our LO!

I am 16 weeks- feeling more energy! We bought the attached nursery set. 50% off because it was a floor model and we love it! The top flips down and since I am barely 5'- this shorty can actually reach all the way in. Huge bonus. Still have a week until my next check up but in the meantime we are making room for baby. We. Have. So. Much. Jazz! Time to clean house. Big time!

QOTD: Holiday traditions- I want to continue Christmas Eve as our families do- big celebration that night and low key Christmas Day but I'd like us to actually make our own traditions for the other holidays. Id love to start Easter Egg Hunts and family pumpkin craving, etc. Our families dont have traditions just play it by ear.

Hi everyone!

I am 18w3d.  No new appointments until August 7th. I do think I have started to feel movement.  OH I did get my blood work back on the spina bifida tests and all the other pre-lim tests they run, and everything was normal! 

QOTW: Well I tend to remember that there were traditions when we were really small.  Once my parents got divorced, it just seemed like a you go here this year and go here this year.  So no REAL traditions to carry on.  Hopefully we will make some good ones.

26 weeks today. @Ashris13‌ - did not realize I will be moving to 3rd trimester. I had a follow up of my fetal echo and everything looks great. I finally registered for a few classes at the hospital I am going to be delivering at. Sleeping is becoming difficult.

@Ashris13 good luck with the heartburn, hopefully your doctor can tell you something to relief it! I've started popping tums like crazy within the last 3 weeks. Also, yeah for the countdown for V-day - it is a huge milestone.

On the nursery front: stuff is put away and our rocking chair from IKEA is put together. Next, we have to work on the cribs. . .I don't know what our barrier is for getting those set up. Maybe this weekend or next?  I'm 23w6d. . .tomorrow is V-day! Very excited. Had a doctor's appointment yesterday, everything looks good, Baby A and B are starting to differentiate (normally the act 'very twiny' as the tech tell us) with A having a faster heartbeat ~ 160 vs. ~150 for B. B happens to be my quiet one, not as much kicking from him. Baby A I would swear is training for a soccer or karate match. My next appointment is in 4 weeks and that will be the glucose test.

QOTW: When I lived closer to home, there was always a big family get together on Christmas Eve. We won't be traveling the next few years, so I'd like to make the holidays special some how at home for them.

I can't believe 3rd Tri already!!! It's going so fast. My FIL left to go home, poor guy is lost w/o MIL if away for too long. DH is finishing some of the projects FIL started. We need molding & ceiling fan in nursery and he has to finish back porch. Hopefully he will be done next weekend so I can order crib. Other than that not much to report.

QOTW: we used to put on Christmas music & decorate the tree. Mom would hand out ornaments & we would take turns putting them on tree. We also got to open one gift before bed Christmas Eve.

Hi Ladies, 

I'd like to join now that i'm moving over from first tri. I'm 14w 2d today (EDD 1/19/15). I have my next appointment on Monday when I hit 15w. I'll be getting the Panorama test done then since we missed the window for NT testing (I've been out of the country for work since the end of week 11). We're also having another u/s tomorrow and hopefully we'll be able to confirm that they still think the baby is a boy (early guesses at my last appt were boy based upon what we saw on the u/s). If they are able to confirm the baby is a boy then we'll go ahead and order our nursery furniture now. If not then we'll wait till after we get the Panorama results. I can't wait to start shopping for this baby!!

QOTW: neither of us had many traditions and mine died off after my grandmother passed away. Family is very important to both of us, so we are looking forward to building traditions with our new family

@absolutelymaybe I definitely think my babies are more active during the week than on the weekend and even with that, I only feel them moving a couple of times a day for a short period.  So I know how you feel!  

22 weeks, 1 day.  Feeling the babies move, but not as frequently as it seems other people do!  I am meeting with a doula this weekend.  I met with another one a few weeks ago, but it wasn't a good fit.  I'm not nervous about giving birth, but I just want someone there who has been through this before and can help guide me throughout the process, so I am hoping this is a good meeting.  Also need to register for birth classes.  Our registry is pretty much complete.  And I leave for LA in a week!  So excited for this trip to see my family and my brother get married.  Due to my new job I haven't seen my parents in over a year.  This is much needed!

QOTW:  My family and my husband's family both have a lot of family traditions.  Hopefully we can merge them all and be satisfied!  I can't wait for Christmas with the boys though

Hi ladies, 21 + 5 today and I am loving all these little rolls and jabs. Nothing new to report, I have my next appointment on the 31st and DH finally gets to come to this one. It's been a while since he's heard the heartbeat and he's pretty excited. 

QOTW: I did not have many traditions in my family growing up so I'm kind of the christmas grinch. This is something I actually get quite sad about. I'm excited to start holiday traditions with my new little family and come up with fun ways everyone can make memories together.

Sorry for checking in late. Thank you for keeping track of every one @Ashris13‌! Congrats on almost reaching v-day! And good luck on your registry. DH and I went to BBB this past Sunday and I was very overwhelmed when we left. I find it much easier to update my registry online because I can read reviews and do research.

I'm 19w2d today and not much to update with me or baby, feeling some movements here and there but still quite spread out. Baby used to kick in the center if my belly now it's moving abt two inches to the right of my belly button, I guess cuz it's growing and getting longer!

I guess I shouldn't say "it" anymore! We found out on Saturday that we're having a baby girl! I'm so excited cuz that's what I was secretly hoping for. Now bring on all the cute outfits, rufflebutts, headbands and tutus!

QOTW: I didn't really have any special holiday traditions growing up but we're Chinese and although very much Americanized I hope my kids will know their heritage and learn to speak some Chinese from their grandparents.

AWing myself as well, today is our 3rd wedding anniversary and we finally spilled the beans on FB!

Nothing new here really. Doctors office screwed up again. The doctor referred me to an MFM but never wrote it up the referral, so i have been waiting a week for nothing. I finally called and am waiting for them to get final approval from insurance company. 

It's been a stressful week, to be honest. Some family drama that has upset me. not sure if I have a right to be this mad, or it just pregnancy hormones at their finest.

Hey there... May I join? I am 14 weeks 1 day today. Nice to be out of hte 1st trimester and althought I didn't have much morning sickness at all, I am still experiencing some seriously exhaustion. I think I sleep in my car during my lunch break EVERY day at work! lol  We did CGH testing on our embryos before transfer and know we are having a baby girl! I have an appointment next week just as "routine" but I've bene spotting brown off and on and they don't seem to think it's a big deal... I'm anxious to see if they can find out where it's coming from b/c it's driving me nuts! I've already picked out the nursery furniture... My parents and my husband's paretns offered to split the cost of the nursery so that's a HUGE relief after spending $30k+ to get thisbaby here!! lol Glad to see everyone is doing well! It was fun to read everyone's progress.

Nothing to really update this week.  21w5d and feeling big!  Loving all the movements and yet freaking out if the LO takes a break. 

QOTW:  We didn't really have any holiday traditions out of the ordinary when I was a kid.  We do an ornament every year for each other and DS and will do the same for this LO.  We spend the morning opening gifts at home and then travel out of state to my parents for Christmas Day in our PJs, so we'll continue that.  My Mom gets a huge kick out of it.

22 w and 1 day. Thinking about it, I have done a lot this week. We received and assembled our crib. https://www.amazon.com/babyletto-Hudson-Convertible-Toddler-White/dp/B007CRJHUI. For some reason I didn't realize to raise and lower the mattress, you'll have to unscrew each of the screws. Definitely not fast to adjust the height. But otherwise I love the crib. I have my registry on Amazon and grandparents have already started buying stuff which is awesome. Agreed to a shower date, 10/18  (late I know). Now my wonderful friend is designing the invitations. It is going to be nautical themed. And am currently 'arguing" with DH over were we are going to give birth. He wants the close hospital but I want the baby friendly hospital. My mom traveled 2 hrs to have us, so 50 minutes seems like nothing to me. 

QOTW: My mom always celebrated the majority of Christmas (dinner/gifts) on Christmas Eve and I think I'll continue that tradition.

Please add me. I'm due 1/21. Dunno if it's a boy or girl yet as we haven't gotten the Maternit21 test results back yet. We should be hearing from the doc by next Monday or Tuesday! Can't wait!

Today I am 14w+2d. I've started looking up some stuff for the registry. And thank everyone for introducing me to lucie's list! It really helps narrow down the choices and let's me focus on a couple of options and gives me real world feedback as opposed to what I think would be a good idea. Other than that, I'm finally feeling like myself - no more extreme exhaustion. Although, I get the weirdest dreams sometimes .. my next appointment with the doc isn't until 8-12 and I.CAN'T.WAIT! it seems so far away!

Which reminds me, anyone else have problems with their feet? Mine swell up regularly but last night, it was so bad that I was actually feeling some pain while I walked. Is this normal? TIA

QOTW: we mostly just went to church and hung out with our friends. We plan on giving our kid the same opportunity but after we got married, we started some of our own traditions - like going to my parents house on Christmas eve and opening presents and then going to my husband's family on Christmas day and opening presents, having dinner together. I definitely wanna keep Christmas morning to ourselves. That kind of thing.

Hi ladies sorry for the late check in! Nothing new to report! my nausea is SLOWLY getting better. I'm still taking zofran everyday, but the past few days i haven been getting sick at all which has been awesome. Painting the nursery this weekend and preparing to bring in the crib hopefully next weekend!

QOTW: no holiday traditions on my side of DH's side of the family, but I'm thinking of incorporating advent and lent activities for the LO to enjoy

Wow things have been busy lately - I guess that's what I get with a teething baby + overtime at work. I'm 23wks+3days and feeling the baby kick so much more, which is really super cool!

I had our a/s two weeks ago and the baby is healthy!  We also found out it's a GIRL!!!  Here's a pic from the 3-D scan 

(IMO these 3-D scans are a little freaky) I think she looks kinda like my niece did as a newborn, so maybe she'll take after my side of the family

My little sister is absolutely flipping out about this baby being a girl and now wants to throw me a baby shower.  So, I guess it looks like I'm having a "second" shower (eventhough we didn't do one for DS) and am actually really looking forward to it. OMG girl baby clothes are even more adorable than little boy's!

QOTW: We haven't been able to stick to any real traditions now that everyone in my family is grown up and so busy.  My Mom was always really big on decorating the house for the holidays.  Like, every holiday, even made up ones like "winter" in January and all the little ones like St. Patty's and Valentines day.  I'm trying to atleast do something special like this for Christmas and have invited her the last few years to come visit for a day and put up stuff in each room.

AFM:  I had my check up with the dr on Wed.  I went by myself for the first time and unfortunately Baby A Jonathan Daniel has received his angel wings.  DH and I were in total shock since the week before he was all over the ultrasound kicking, waving, being photogenic.  They think that my angel baby had a blood clot caused by the hole in his heart.  Jackson (baby is doing great right now but I am on modified bed rest.  They do not want me to go in to labor.

I am a little late to this check-in I didn't know when its usually posted maybe I'll be quicker next week :-) @Ashris13 thanks for the great check in! My due date is jan 14, Im 15wks yesterday. really no updates this week still sick sometimes it comes and goes.I can now feel two lumps in my lower abdomen when I lie on my back. I can feel little flutters sometimes, I can't wait until I can really feel them moving! We have bought a few things for the bathroom they will share, its zoo animal stuff the rug is a hippo face I love it! My next apt is next week its just my preg interview and my Dr doesn't want anouther u/s till my anatomy scan so I think I'm going to pay to have a 4d done next week :-)

I have always loved Christmas! I always helped my mom decorate (and still decorating for Christmas is my favorite) and we did lots of baking and always made a ginger bread house. I plan to make Christmas just as fun and exciting as my mom did. She also always went all out when it came to Santa so I hope I can do just as a job as she did. We also always put together shoe boxes for Samaritans purse shoe box ministry that goes to children all over the world, that's definitely a tradition I want to share with my babies.

@ekc630, I am so sorry about baby Jonathan.

We turn 26 weeks on Sunday. After last week's panic over failing the 1 hour glucose screen, I spent the better part of this week tracking my carbohydrate & calorie intake as well as checking my 1 hour post-meal finger stick sugars. This was just my OCD at work. It was interesting to see how many carbs and calories I was actually eating and I picked up some good tips about carb counting.

On Friday, I underwent the 3 hour glucose tolerance test. They really ought to tell you to to allot FOUR hours for the testing since they have to test the fasting sugar as well before you drink the sugar solution. Four anxiety laden hours later, I was done and having to wait another hour or so before my OB appointment, where she pronounced NO GD! That was a great way to start the weekend.

DH has been feeling and even seeing LO move and thump around, so he is feeling that this is now more "real".

QOTW: No real traditions between both families, so we can start a clean slate with our little family.

@Ashris13‌ you are such a great leader, thanks for being so attentive! Things are going really well at 17 weeks. I announced at work and everyone is so happy. A few friends got really emotional. I've been getting so much love. I am finally pretty active. Walking daily and doing prenatal yoga on Saturdays. We find out sex on August 18.

QOTW: My mom would allow us to open one give on xmas eve which was always a new set of xmas pjs. It was so fun. I will keep that tradition going.
