Wow I forgot we are saifers now and not paifers anymore! So exciting!
I aM currently in a hotel w baby until dh returns tomorrow. LO did not sleep great last night and I forgot to put up the DND sign so housekeeping woke us both up. I tried to pump for my stash but lo lasted about 10 minutes before he shit himself and was not happy about it so I had to stop early and change him. I also managed to knock all my clean storage bottles onto the hotel floor so I will have to wash them again.
This room is too small for all this baby stuff! Can't wait for dh to get back tomorrow but we will still be at the hotel for a few more days. I knew this Was going to be a crummy week!
Looking forward to reading everyone else's updates!

@whoberry‌ I hope your stay in the hotel goes better from here on out! Are you OOT or is there another reason you have to stay in a hotel, if you don't mind me asking?

All is going ok here. We all survived Ds first night being babysat by my ILs relatively unscathed. My mil has some interesting ideas about child care, so we say, so I thought I did a great job of not stressing about it. H did have to have a convo with her afterwards tho. Thank god he will say what he needs to and leaves me out of it.

D is great these days. 5 weeks now and can smile at me, which totally melts my heart and makes me tear up! It's my reminder that everything we went through to get here was totally worth it!

@twistsandturnsto2‌ we are out of town to get MIL transferred to a new facility and get her stuff in order. She was really sick and still needs in patient care. It's a shitty trip but had to be done. She is on the mend and not contagious anymore so she will meet her first grandchild tomorrow!

Hi all!! 5 weeks into parenthood and I don't know how I'm still functioning as a person, sleep deprivation is rough! LO doesn't nap consistently day to day so I never know if she's going down for half an hour or three and I never pick the right one when I want to nap too. She's also starting to fight going to sleep when she's tired so we've had lots of screaming the past few days. The past month has been hard & many days I feel like I'm just "surviving" but I still cry almost daily because I'm so thankful I get the chance to do this..I'm such a sap, haha.

Hiiii. It's been nearly 3 months and I still can't believe they are here and OURS! Life is rough sometimes (ok a lot of times) but I'm finding ways to survive. One of my hardest things is doing their PT exercises- it's essentially stretching very tight muscles out so while their therapists say it doesn't hurt it's also not comfortable. And they scream during it. It's really hard to be feeling like I'm the one causing them to hurt and I'm constantly having to remind myself it's for their own good and how much worse it would get if we didn't do the exercises.
One other nice survival thing is that another family in our condo building has a baby 2 weeks older than the babies so we do walks together and last night we just hung out in the evening trying to get our babies to sleep since both our husbands were working late. So much easier with someone else to commiserate with!

I'm here! I'm just so out of it these days lol. Sleep deprivation is fun yo.

Girls are doing well and growing like weeds! I think V may have an ear infection (sleeping like crap and tugging at ear) so I'm taking her to the doc today. I've been good about taking the girls out on their own but I'm still making hubby come home early to watch S because I'm not THAT good haha.

My baby jogger I ordered should be here today and I'm ridiculously excited about it! Can't jog with them for awhile but we can go on long walks, so yay!

My time on TV had been limited, but I'm happy to tag everyone's updates. My LO is 5 weeks old and life is great! DH had been amazing and more help them I ever imagined.
I thought I would return to work in October, but we're still on the wait list for daycare. In the meantime I'm enjoying time with my little girl.

@whoberry‌ Mumble has torticollis (super tight neck muscles) on the right so she always keeps her head to the right to avoid stretching and has developed plagiocephaly (a flat spot) on that side as a result. Our pedi initially thought Hugsy had the same thing on the left but after a bunch of tests by the PTs they determined the neck muscles aren't tight, just weak on that side. So where Mumble can't turn her head the final 5-10degrees to one side, Hugsy can but it's more work for him so he doesn't do it. Their exercises are to loosen and strengthen those muscles. It's more common with twins since they get jammed into position sooner but can also occur with singletons.
I had no idea what was going on- I thought it was cute how Hugsy would always peek over my shoulder at me while being burped. But if you notice your baby is always turning to one side let your pedi know.

@curlylocks3‌ thanks for the info, hope you don't have to do the exercises for too long! I have noticed LO almost always turns his head one way on the changing table and when he spits up. I will mention to the pedi at our appt next week.

@whoberry thank you! We are optimistic it will be short because our pedi and both PTs all say it's very mild. In fact, our pedi is starting off with private PT first because there is a delay of 1-2 months to get enrolled in Early Intervention and he's hoping we won't need PT beyond that. So....fingers crossed.
Hopefully it is nothing with your LO but I would mention it for sure, simply because the earlier it's caught the easier it is to remedy and everything our PTs/pedi have told us and I have read shows that 2-4 months is the optimal time to diagnose and start treatment. I hope baby's appointment goes well but if your pedi is concerned I am definitely here to talk!
