Flying from where I live is pretty expensive, but that's because there is no competition- only one airport nearby. My parents live outside Philly and there are a few local airports near them that are always offering discount fares to compete with the big airport that are also close to them.
I always thought flights within the US were relatively cheap but I guess that's starting to change.
I'm glad I was able to use points for our trip this summer to the coast, otherwise it would have been over $2000 for 3 seats. Crazy. And that's just 1 province over, the flight is only 1.5 hours.
Yeah, it is ridiculous. Luckily we only really need to fly between northern and southern Cal, but even that is averaging $200 round trip. I try to wait for Southwest's $69 fares (they used to have $49 but I haven't seen those in a while), but you can't get those on Fridays and Sundays so the scheduling is difficult.
I don't even want to tell you how expensive my family's last minute tickets were from SFO to Cleveland for my grandma's funeral.
Yeah. With SAN to SFO/OAK that expensive, not a shocker further places are bad.
-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules.
This is why I have never been to see my sister. I could never afford it. While I could drive the 10 hours I hate driving and I can't see my kid sitting good for that long either
Re: When did flying get so expensive? ?
