Dove white bar in the morning. Then at night I got some tea tree oil & witch hazel. Dilute both profoundly. Take a cotton ball & wipe your face with the WH first. Then splash with cold water. Pat dry & wipe the tea tree oil (diluted!!) with a cotton ball & leave to dry.
Tea tree oil can be applied to the face directly no need to dilute. It can be applied all over the face or as spot treatment but shouldn't be applied to open wounds (then it might burn). I have really sensitive skin and have using tea tree oil daily for many years without any discomfort. Witch hazel can be incredibly drying if you have dry skin to begin with, only use if you are oily. A good exfoilation is much needed but nothing with crushed walnut shells. Stay away from drug store mineral oil based products (neutrogena, clean and clear) and always encorporate a good moisturizer for morning and night.
If you are having skin problems my best recommendation is to go have a mini (or full if you want to!) facial and consult with an esthetician and they can recommend what is best for your skin after cleansing and looking closely at it. Everyone's skin is incredibly different and you need to use products based on your skin type not just what works for other people. Hope you can find something that works for you soon!
I started using coconut oil to cleanse my face. Granted my early preg was during winter so my skin was very persnickity anyway, but it was the only thing that would cleanse my skin and not make it either too dry, or too oily.
I would just rub it all over my face, allow it to set for a couple of minutes, wet a washcloth with very warm water, hold it on my face to kind of "steam it" and then wipe off the oil. I usually had to wipe my face 2 or 3 times to get it completely clean. Then i would follow up with some withhazel and Simple face lotion.
Re: What face wash helped you while pregnant?
The TTO can tingle & burn. So be conservative!
