I really enjoy them. The vast majority are really fun and interesting reads.

I like them. I'd say that about half of them are really good, and the rest are not.

With the exception of a rare few, most mommy blogs aren't very good.

UGH. No thank you, mommy blogs. I think they're lame.

Grace, that content you are proposing is not appropriate for a family website! Put it on your own blog. Especially the pictures. Yikes.

I have been told by many people to start a mommy blog. I'm not sure why as I have no idea why strangers would want to read what I am saying. Plus when the hell would I write a mommy blog when I feel like most of my "free" time is busy mommy-ing? Or attempting to half read mommy blog articles on my phone behind my kids head while nursing? I'm super confused about the time management aspect of it. I feel like those who say it's like journaling are being disingenuous as you will never say or act your true thoughts if you have an audience.

ETA However I am obsessed with the Honest Toddler, though I don't know if that counts as a mommy blog?

Im not a big blog reader in general. I really only read stuff (blogs) that is (are) shared with me.

    This.
  • I used to read one that I really loved. She was honest and funny and didn't seem like she was trying too hard. But then she started getting all of these sponsors and it seemed like all of her posts were about how much she just LOVES her new diaper bag/shirt/meal plan/blender/whatever and it really put me off. I started becoming sensitive to the sponsorships and just stopped reading altogether.

  • Another vote for what @KittenGator said.  I really liked a couple, and then they just wound up turning into sponsor-fests or got too busy with life and quit posting.

So I used to, but I don't follow any anymore.

I read one, but it's more of an earthy crunchy knitting blog. She's sort of my hippie role model if I were really able to be as crunchy as I secretly wish I was. She also has 5 kids who she home schools (technically unschools) which I find fascinating as a public school teacher.

Eta: I just went and read today's post and, of course, it's not a great example of a typical post. She's super mushy today.

  • I don't consistently read it, but any Baby Sideburns post that has been shared with me makes me laugh. And often to the point of snorting.
