Some of these just seem like common sense, and others I've never heard of. I laughed at #8 until I read the paragraph... Southerns gossip more than anyone else, I think.
#1 not just ANY mayonnaise, it has to be Duke's. Bless your heart is the most versatile phrase ever. It could mean you're an idiot or that someone actually feels sympathetic towards you. You may never know which one.
Isn't most of this common outside of the South except for saying "bless her heart"? We shun Miracle Whip in Norcal too. I always grew up thinking it was something people from the East Coast liked.
@MotherofPearl85, bless your heart, if you've never had Dukes. There really is no use for any mayo, other than Dukes, to even be made! <--- Obviously from the South
I actually obey all of these except #3. I hate pastels.
Hate may be a strong word but I loathe pastels and Smocking. I have never understood the Smocked trend. It looks so dated. And sure enough, every line for Santa Claus will have the matching smocked outfits family.
And I do not do mayonnaise. It's not natural, you guys. Ketchup comes from tomatoes, mustard from mustard seeds (I don't do mustard either though), and mayonnaise comes from oil and eggs? Gross.
