Need T&P's (Not Preg Related) *Updated*

Just when it seems like things have settled down for once, of course something has to happen.

I have a 13 year old beagle (an old boy, but still sprightly) and he has started having nosebleeds Apparently the most common cause of this in old dogs is cancer. It's been a rough couple of years, and I just don't know if I have the strength for this. Our beloved cat passed from liver cancer 4 Years ago, and watching him deteriorate was one of the hardest things I've ever endured. I'm not really religious, but I believe he passed on so he could be there to welcome by angel babies when they came.

Things seem to be going so well with this pregnancy, and I was finally starting to relax. Now, I'm sick with worry over my poor pooch. Please keep him in your T&P's if you can. He has an appt with the vet tomorrow, and I expect a diagnosis is going to cost us a fortune...

Update- So the most common cause of nosebleeds for a dog of C's age is an abscess in his canine tooth. We are trying him on antibiotics to see if it gets better while on them, and then worse once stopped. An abscess would mean a pricey surgery, but at least that's better than having to say an early goodbye and feeling powerless to help him. I made them do bloodwork today as well just in case, and those results came back clear. For now I have a reason to hope that he's ok... But nonetheless I'm still worried because they can't rule out cancer. But my beagle is happy and home with us right now, enjoying the Timbits (donut holes) we got him as a treat :-). Thank you so much for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers, you will never know how much that means to me.

Thanks ladies. Only the one nosebleed today thank goodness, but I'm still really concerned about tomorrow's appt. I don't care if it's an expensive diagnosis, I'm just hoping and praying it's something fixable. I know he's an older boy, but he still has a few good years left in him
