In the past week or so…M seems to have made some huge leaps in the development department. He's learned how to blow kisses, pet all of the animals gently and he runs around the house like a maniac. TOTAL maniac.
He's never pulled my shirt up or down before to search for my boobs…but he just started doing it-and it's hysterical. He sits on my lap and tries to pull the neck of my shirt then looks at me and really loudly asks "DA!?!?". It's really cute
Also, if you ask him where his belly button is he will lift his shirt really high and stand on his tippy toes and laugh.
Our town had the annual Street Art Fair this past week (Wed-Sat) and we went twice. I wore P in the Beco and she was totally content sauntering along with thousands upon thousands of other people (over 500,000 people attend each year over the 4 days). I was worried she'd be overwhelmed; it's slow-moving, hot, so crowded, and loud. She smiled and made faces and people next to us, and loved eating junky street food (FFSC!) like some bites of elephant ear. And I got more fantastic art from some of my favorite artists I try to visit each year.

elephant ear? is that like zeppolis?
I've never heard of these!
I looked them up, and they are similar. Elephant ears are fried dough, but flat like naan, and covered in (usually) cinnamon and sugar, or you can have the topped with powdered sugar. No cream or jelly filling or topping though.
also, what's the limit for front-carrying? M is 15 months, about 18.5lbs. Can I wear him in front forever? Or does there come a point that he has to be worn on my back? I've only ever worn him once on my back-in NYC
I still wear P in the front too. I've only worn her on my back while I was baking cupcakes, because she was all up in my baking business, being all handsy.
Can't you can front-carry until it starts to become uncomfortable on your back? I think eventually too much weight in front throws off your center of gravity too much, and puts strain on your back.

The directions on my Beco say you can wear on the front as long as it's comfortable for the adult. G is 26 pounds and I still mostly wear him on the front. He pulls my hair or licks my ears when I wear him on th back. Stinker.
IMMS that two good friends of mine and I got our toddlers together yesterday. They were all three born within a month of each other, and it was awesome to see them actually play together! They were sharing like pros. Maybe a little too much because they started passing their sippy cups around!
Imms that E is being a total mama's girl today! And imms to wake up cuddled up with little P. I didn't plan to bedshare, but she is just a total cuddle bug and sleeps so well when she can snuggle up to me.

IMMS that we were able to get L's antibiotics into him this morning quickly and without too much spitting. He liked the Amoxicillan, but hates this stronger antibiotic.
Also, we are picking up a used Hape play kitchen for L today for super cheap. I'm excited for him to play with it. We'll have to hide the small pieces until he's older, though.
DS dances all the time. It's the cutest thing. Whenever he hears any kind of music or beat, he'll start to bob his head, bob up and down from his knees, or twist his upper body. He's even starting to find the beat too.
IMMS that I had enough courage to pack DH and DS up last minute to go to a college friends wedding in CT. The 5 hour drive each way didn't kill any of us and I got to catch up with some friends I haven't seen in years.
Also, that DH took DS out on his own this morning and left me in the hotel room for 2 hours. It was my first time alone with nothing to do since DS was born. It was so nice.
IMMS that my dad is sending my mom to stay with me even though we're probably still a week away from baby day. Mom is always a huge help when she comes to visit, and N just adores her. I didn't want to waste her time by having her come early, but it is a huge relief to know that she will be here to take care of N when DS2 finally hatches.
Oh, and after the "oh my gosh, what happened to SAK?!" incident of a few weeks ago, I figured I better give a heads-up. My bump abilities will probably be limited from here on out for a while since I hate to use mobile and my computer is in the guest room. @Mapleme can FB stalk me, so check with her if you get any UAJane withdrawal symptoms.

I'm smiling because I've gotten a ton of the stupid little household projects done that there are always a million of and I have been super overwhelmed by. Some of it is decluttering, other parts are just adding some nice or functional home decor projects. I still have lots more to do, but I'm feeling like I'm a roll, and feel like I'm making major headway in my 'Get all clutter out of my house and garage' quest.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
Whoa, being Jane's only CD board FB friend makes me feel special. And powerful. If Jane disappears from the board I can just make up random shit and y'all WOULD NEVER KNOW.
So, should I type in "@unaveragejane" in the search function of your fb friends, then? @TheUltimateSAK, any stalking advice? LOL
DS has been in a goofy mood the last few days. I have no idea where it came from. He's never been this level of goofy before, but it's really fun.
He's pretty articulate and clear spoken for a 2 year old boy and DH and I mostly try to correct his pronunciation, but tonight I convinced DH that fridge-a-ler will stand uncorrected as the word for refrigerator for the time being.
Between DS teething and waking several times a night, and hot weather the last week, and DH being sick over the weekend, I kind of over-extended myself. I had a couple of dizzy spells Sunday and Monday, probably just from poor sleep. So last night I asked DH to put DS to bed so I could cut my evening short and go to bed early. He not only did that, he stayed with DS through the night so I could sleep through anytime DS woke up. And Holy Cannoli, I feel like a million bucks this morning!
DS kept picking flowers and handing them to me yesterday. And each time he would deeply inhale to smell them. I put them in a shot glass since the stems are too short for anything else. It's his first bouquet to me. And it's sitting on our kitchen table now.

It also MMS that DD has been feeling good lately. We have so much more fun when she feels good and we can laugh and play.
