Not everyone gets a dip around ovulation. For those who do, some get it the day of ovulation and some a day or two before. So I guess the answer for your second answer is...no sex is not pointless at that point.
BTW you won't know that your temp dip means ovulation until you get a sustained temp rise after.
I wouldn't stress too much about taking a day off. If your temp spikes in the morning just have some fun morning sex then. DH and I usually aim for EOD, unless I get a positive OPK, then we try for everyday until I get a temp spike.
If you've had ED sex, I don't think that taking today off would be problematic, even if it is your most fertile days. Eg: if you had sex yesterday and plan to have sex again tomorrow before H goes to sleep, you should have your bases covered. Don't wake him up. Take a rest today.

Thank you! This is what I was getting at and wondering.
Sorry, but you can't predict o with temps. Try an opk next time.
I know that. I'm charting BBT, CM, and had a positive OPK yesterday. I was just wondering IF an O Dip occurs, what it means in relation to actual O timing.

---- I know you know. But I'm just saying there's no way to tell whether your dip is an o dip or just a random temp.
Re: O Dip
I do know that sustained temps confirm O.
