Question about saline u/s

I had a saline hysterosonogram on Tuesday to look at my uterus, lining & tubes. The doctor told me everything looks normal...great even. The procedure was painless and I felt fine. The last 2 days I have had some super light bleeding.

I was told spotting after is normal but to call them if I have a flow like a period. This bleeding is a little more than spotting but less than a light period. I'm so confused! Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if this is concerning enough to call the on call doctor at my RE's office?

What CD are you on? Is the bleeding/spotting red or brown?

I had an HSG (a little different, but similar) on Thursday and had some bleeding after. I think it was because I was only on CD 7, so it was brown leftover blood from my period.

My guess is that's it's probably fine if it's not heavy, red bleeding, but if you're concerned about it, give your doctor a call.

I am in CD 15. It started out pink but as of last night it is red.

I am in CD 15. It started out pink but as of last night it is red.

I'd call about red spotting, I think, especially because it's been several days since the procedure at this point.

I had an HSG last week and I did have red spotting afterwards-- not quite period flow, but heavy enough. It only lasted a couple of hours though and then completely stopped. I would call if I were you since it's been a couple of days since the test.

When I had my Femvue, which is saline water with ultrasound, I had spotting for several days after. Mine was mostly brownish/pink, which my doc said was very normal.

I would def call though since you've had bright red flow. If nothing else, just to give you some peace of mind.

Thanks ladies.  I contacted my RE's weekend answering service and they called the on-call doctor.  She said to call and speak with my nurse on Monday when they're back.  Since I just finished the testing phase and haven't started any treatments, it is not something that needs immediate attention.  I'm going to call my doctor on Monday and let you all know what they say, just in case anybody experiences something like this in the future.

Ok...I finally called my doctor yesterday about this bleeding. I wanted to update anyone in the event someone else experiences anything similar.

I spoke with my nurse yesterday and told her about the mysterious bleeding. She told me to come in for an ultrasound. Went in for that this morning. They said everything looks fine. The u/s tech mentioned that my lining does look a little thin, but there is nothing to be concerned about right now (especially because I haven't started medicated cycles yet - just finished all testing). My nurse just left me a message and confirmed that there isn't anything to be concerned about, that this could just be mid-cycle bleeding.

I guess I was concerned because I have NEVER in my life had mid-cycle bleeding, spotting, anything. I am glad they followed up with me right away just to be safe.
