There have been a few of you who have asked...thank you for remembering us, you are so sweet. My mom is doing fantastic. For the past 3 months she has had weekly biopsies and blood work done. They go in through her groin or her wrist, and extract a piece of the heart to analyze. So far, she has had 0 rejection! That is LITERALLY a miracle. The main brilliant doctor at Cedars that has done so much research on the antibody problems, says he has never seen such a perfect match where the bad antibodies (the meanest of the mean) get along perfectly in the donor's heart and the recipients body. She starts up her physical therapy in the next two weeks, which should really take her physical condition to the next level. It's so very exciting!!
Here is a picture of my mom enjoying the outdoors in their campground in LA. I know you've probably seen her before, but Isn't she beautiful? Since they are from Portland, OR, they decided to stay in a motor home instead of renting, because LA is so expensive. She has to stay there for 1 year, although the last 6 months of that her appointments go down to once every two months, so she can travel in between. We go to see her for the first time in early September (right before Max's birthday) and then they are coming out to Denver for a few weeks over Thanksgiving. Yay!
