Shopping cart issue

So LO has started to turn backwards and get on his knees while strapped into the cart, at least at Target, he's done it the past three times. Any ideas how to get him to stop? I've tried tightening the strap and it just doesn't work, he's going to get hurt doing this! Picture of what I'm talking aboutimage

I have to apologize for laughing at this. My DS bends over the side or tries to reach for things in the big basket. Such a PITA. I usually keep one hand on him to keep him still and have toys ready to distract him.

Maybe try using those car carts so he can sit facing outward?

  • I also laugh but understand the annoying-ness. Try a shopping cart cover. I hardly use mine but they restrict the space a lot. Might keep LO from having enough room to turn around.
  • I have a shopping cart cover and dd does the same thing. I hold her hand when she'll let me. At least this way I feel like she's a little more secure.

  • I can commiserate. DS managed to turn around and pull two grapes out of the cart and shove them in his mouth before I noticed. I also try to keep one hand on him while we're out shopping. If I talk to him or sing to him that seems to keep him interested enough to stay facing me.

Or better yet, I try to shop when someone else is watching him, lol.

  • Babywear or I'd never get anything done. I always fear my baby is going to fall out of the shopping cart.

DD did that at this age but only in the target shopping carts. I just always turned her back around and tried to
occupy her somehow. She eventually lost interest.

  • I do have one of those cart overs somewhere, I'll have to find it to see if that helps at all, otherwise back to BW it'll be at least at target! Thanks ladies, figured I wasn't the only one with a wiggly LO!

  • Target carts are the worse! We have a big cart cover and their carts are so big, its constantly falling. I hate that they are so big. Dd keeps trying to pull herself up too because she's so far back.

  • We have a cover and I connect some toys for DS he is more distracted by the toys and has never even tried this. I know like @Snowboarderbritt‌ said they have some with a 5 point harness and I don't see them being able to turn around in that.
