aromatherapy during labor?

Hey ladies! Anyone planning or had experience with aromatherapy during labor? I'm planning to go natural & have heard sometimes the hormones can make you nauseated. Looking to alleviate the nasties with some essential oil blend. Thanks for any insight.

  • Our hospital uses lavender for relaxation and ginger for nausea. We also have accupuncture, massage and whirlpool tubs. :) All big changes just since I gave birth 2 years ago; I'm excited to be able to use all of that.

  • I was occasionally nauseated during labor, and vomited a couple of times. I held a cut lemon in my fist and when I felt icky, I breathed in the scent. It was great and I'll be sure to keep lemons at the ready for this labor, too.

I love the ginger idea--I didn't try that but I bet those chewy ginger candies would be awesome!
