  • I have a bunch, but one that comes to mind is I use the same locker (#37) at the gym every time. I don't have any real reason why; it's just the one I always use. And if it's taken, it really throws me off.

    I do stuff like that too. It's like when you're in college and everyone always sits in the same seats every class. My coworkers and I always sit in the same spots at lunch too. It's a little weird.

     I cannot stand when cabinet doors are left open. Even at other people's houses, if I walk into the kitchen and a cabinet is open, I'll close it. Every day before I leave the house, I peek in the kitchen to make sure all of the cabinets are closed.

    When I go to my IL's they always have at least 2 cabinets left open and half the chairs pulled out.  And I ALWAYS fix it!

    I have two specific behaviors that I am compelled to do

    1. At work it drives me nuts if I can't park in the same spot every morning. I actually arrive about a half hour early so that I can get the same spot.....so it drives me a little wacko if I get to work that early and someone is already in the spot.

    2. I have to sleep on the side of the bed closest to the door--no matter where I am. So even when I travel and the orientation of the room is backwards I make MH give me the side closest to the door. I don't know what I would do in a round room lol

  • For no known reason other than true OCD I have always set my alarms in numbers ending in 1,3,7 or 9. Like it won't go off if the time is even or ends in 00 or 05. So for example, mine is set for 6:31 instead of 6:30.

    My movies are organized not by alphabetical but by actor. And some cross over. So for example the movie Fight Club ends the Ed Norton section and start the Brad Pitt section. Then Se7en ends the Pitt section and starts the Morgan Freeman section. (Can you guess my age by those? Ha). My college roommate thought this was hilarious and loved to move one movie and see how long it took me to figure out which on was moved.

    Those my friends is true OCD!

  • @katib77‌ I do something similar with my movies only they grouped by genre or topic ie all the sports movies together, war movies, animal movies, chick flicks etc. Then within each group if their are multiple movies with the same actor/actress those are together.

    I freak out too when I can't find one in its "proper" place 8-}

    THIS exactly! I will not sleep closest to the door wherever we are...home or  hotel. DH makes fun of me to no end, but I think it's awesome that I'm not the only one with this reasoning.

  • I definitely have to "even out" feelings. I had a car that had a little dip on the back of the steering wheel on the right side (when it was straight) and every time I ran a finger on my right hand over it, I HAD to run the same finger on my left side over it. It's the same with most "feelings" except things that cause me extreme pain (but even like a little pinch, I usually have to even it out).

    I also HAVE to sleep on the side of the bed with the clock. Our clock is on the floor, so it's not that easy to just look over and see it. If I can't just roll over and look at it, I'm waking up every half hour and pretty much crawling over DH to see it. He sometimes goes to sleep on my side of the bed to piss me off. I've smacked the heck out of him to get him back to his side.

  • I have a blanket that I sleep with on my bed, it's very heavy and it's made of home decorator fabric and faux fur ... I love it for the weight. There's something about it that makes me feel secure. I take it with me everywhere I go, even if it's just for a night. It's even been camping with me!

    I can relate to the kitchen cabinets thing - I'm the same way!

    I also line up everything I'm going to need in the morning, from my contacts to my makeup, before I go to bed the night before.
