This morning I had my initial consult with the RE. First thing first, I end sitting in the waiting room for an hour because my stupid obgyn office waiting until Tuesday mail my records. And they wouldn't let me pick up my copy so I could have records in hand. And they wouldn't fax them to the office while I was there. (Btw totally TP' ing the staff at my obgyn) I'm assuming my anxiety showed all over my face because he cane in making jokes and totally relaxed the mood. So basically he decided he'll start fresh and just do everything since hee didn't have my records. Waiting no time I have a appointment for blood work and genetic testing I the 30th (Yay me). DH's SA it's scheduled for Aug 7th. Once I have a diagnosis the plan will become more clear. Right now it's see if I ovulate on my own ( which I don't) and make sure my diabetes is only issue. I got a referral to a cardiologist because of past open heart surgery. Thanks for listening to me ramble on just excited, starting to feel like we're heading in the right direction.

My OB who I love wouldn't let me have my records either, they said they would send them over. The day before my appt my RE hadn't received them. So I called my OB again asking to come get them and they said they would send them and I couldn't come get them. WTF??? They are my medical records I have a right to see them and have a copy.
Now my neurologist and rheumatologist have an online portal that I can go in and see all my medical records so I just printed out all the test they had preformed that were useful to my RE. My neurologist even mails me a copy of everything for every visit, even the Dr's notes. I have a medical condition that I've had for years so I keep a folder of my medical records because I had a previous Dr get cancer once and close her practice so I got all my records to bring to another Dr. It gave my current neuro a clear picture of treatment I've tried in the past 20 yrs and how I responded. Which I'm sure helped him see a clearer picture on my first visit and he knew what not to try again.
My husband is a Dr and where he works they are in the process of implementing an online system for medical records with an portal for patients. I know from his standpoint he worries that patients seeing their records can sometimes cause undo stress because the avg patient can't understand what everything means. I know I've even gotten confused about some of my test because some levels are outside the "normal range" and he has to explain to me some things are ok to be outside the normal. I personally think it's awesome because sometimes as a patient we have to be an advocate for our own health.
Sorry to go off on a rant. I'm glad you got every thing straight and are moving forward. Good luck!
Hope your upcoming tests are easy for you and you get good results! Best of luck to you and your hubby!
