Update from last Thursday being in hospital

Hi ladies ! I've been released came home last night. I went from a possible high leak (small rupture ) to being able to come home with only moderate bedrest. Doctor said if there ever was a leak it's possible it just sealed but there's no way of knowing and taking it that I'm showing no infection and given 5 days of antibiotics , no contractions, uterus and placenta in tact , baby showing great movement and high fluid levels contradicts any rupture.

I can't help but feel so scared so I've put myself on bedrest I'm afraid i won't enjoy the rest of my pregnancy due to fear of sometbing going wrong , I've been on the high risk board and hearing their stories makes me pray that doesn't happen to me . Thank u all for the hugs and well wishes . Anyone ever felt this ?

  • I can't recall how far along you are, but keep in mind all the things you listed in your first paragraph and use those for reassurance.  Those are great signs that things are going ok. As long as you are feeling good movements I would take it easy and try to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

Although not the same experience as you, I have been lectured about possible miscarriage signs and about preterm labor symptoms my entire pregnancy. It makes it hard to take it easy and feel that baby is ok.

Maybe you can find a tv series to marathon watch or several books to keep you distracted.

  • Glad to hear that everything is checking out ok. I'd be nervous too! Just keep focusing on the movement of the baby! Movement is always a great sign that things are going well. Sorry you are dealing with this. Will keep you in my prayers. Maybe after a bit, the fear will lessen and you will feel more comfortable with this. FX

  • So glad to hear that you are getting to go home! Just try to take it one day at a time.

  • I totally agree with pp about staying away from the negative stories. (And I say this as a google junkie who freaks herself out all the time) The doctor wouldn't have sent you home if they didn't feel like it was safe. Focus on the fact every things looking good and every day your LO stays in is takes you that much closer to them being ready for life on the outside.

  • Thank you , doctor didn't say a whole lot about being off work or being on complete bedrest . I felt confused my situation went from very severe to being discharged with only moderate bedrest. I took myself off work a few weeks .
  • I'm 29+3 and definetly going to take it easy , why are you at risk if you don't mind me asking , did you test positive for pre term labor test ? Thank you for the warm thoughts :)
  • Yes I'm definetly keeping in mind the more days she is in the more she grows I think I'm just being over key paranoid I'm staying off the high risk board
  • I agree I'm stayig off the board all the what Ifs really scare me . Originally I felt the need to go on because of my status I think I'm still considerate a at risk but for now I have to trust my doctor .
  • Yes staying away from the negative stories is what I'm going to do, all the what Ifs scared me . Hearing how women who went home ended up rapidly going into labor and getting infections made me paranoid. Thank u for the well wishes

I think this one is meant for me.  I was high risk in general due to my age, blood pressure and RA. Add in that we are having twins and it just compounded everything.

  • I don't have direct experience but I would think that if the doctor himself didn't put you on bedrest, you're possibly adding to your own stress by placing yourself on bedrest - no?  I would probably restrict myself to slower movements and definitely wouldn't go to work if I could stay home.  But please don't torture yourself for the rest of your pregnancy by forcing yourself to focus on your nervousness - get out and do some stuff still (unless the doctor told you no of course)!

Glad the prognosis so far is positive - try to focus on that! ((Hugs))

I can only imagine the fear of what could happen - but we want you to enjoy this time as much as possible too!  You got a really good prognosis - I hope you're slowly able to get back into the "joy of pregnancy" (ie: 'roids, rashes, insomnia, etc.).   <:-P ;)
