For anyone who's had ovarian hyperstimulation in the past:

When did your symptoms pop up (how many days past IUI or what day in relation to your fertility treatments)?  and What were your symptoms?

I'm 7dpiui and this AM I woke up with a REALLY bloated belly.  Like I look 3 months pregnant or so.  That has been known to happen right before I get my period in the past (because I have uterine fibroids which can cause some mean bloating).  But this is much earlier than that! Very strange.  There isn't any pain or nausea.  Just major bloating and a heavy feeling of pressure.  Anyone have any quick insight on this?   I don't want to be a drama queen and go in to see my RE over this if I don't need to.  Of note, I did have a very heavy salty/buttery meal last night and I wonder if that made it worse.

No experience with OHSS, but just wanted to say I'm sorry you're going through this and hope you get some answers soon!

I think I had it pretty bad after my ER. I woke up on day 3 after and I was very bloated, I looked 6 months pregnant. It hurt to bend over from a sitting position and even my sun dresses were tight, you can forget yoga pants. I even had a hard time peeing, it was like it wouldn't come out at first. I also think I had a mild case on one of my medicated cycles, just bloating and uncomfortable.

My RE recommended V8 over Gatorade and it helped A LOT on my regular medicated cycle but not so much after ER. I think lots of protein and salty foods are recommended. I hope you feel better soon.

@Pintobean39 - Thanks!  I have not tried V-8 and probably should be eating more protein.  I will get some!  Ugh, it's just painfully ironic to be battling IF and look in the mirror to see a belly that looks 3 months pregnant (I'm guess-timating).  I actually find myself fantasizing that I AM 3 months pregnant ...and how wonderful that would be.  OK, I need to stop.

@rainbowbridge14 - Thanks for sharing your experience!  Wow, I'm not a Dr but that sounds like more than a "mild case"!  That sounds miserable.  I'm not there (yet) and hope it doesn't get any worse than it is now.  Sorry you had to go through that!

My RE is usually great about everything but surprisingly she mentioned nothing about things I can do in my diet to alleviate the symptoms.  I learned that from you guys!  OK, I'm off to buy some V-8 (already have tons of Gatorade) and beef jerky.

Here is a pic I took after my ER, I normally have a pretty flat stomach. I actually wouldn't leave the house because I was so miserable. We did have to go to the grocery store since we were on vacation and my husband said if anyone ask just tell them I was pregnant with 16 because at the time we had 16 still growing.

Also keep monitoring your weight, if you gain a lot real quickly you need to call your RE.

@Pintobean39 - Yikes, that looks so uncomfortable!  I can totally understand the feeling of being self conscious to leave the house.  I feel that way about seeing friends right now (having them speculate that I'm pregnant ...I don't need that).

@rainbowbridge14 - My RE did talk at length with me about OHSS (the causes, symptoms, when to go to the ER).  But she just didn't say anything about diet.  I had 4 mature follies at time of trigger (between 17.5 and 21.3 mm).  And actually I had 3 more that were between 16.1-16.5 mm.
