Disney "redoing" all of these classic concepts to make them modern is getting ridiculous. I guess they are making a new show featuring the seven dwarfs. The commercial just has all of the dwarfs burping. No thanks.
Maybe this should be a FFFC...I'm not sure how I feel about Disney modernizing all their classics; I guess I'm indifferent. The FFFC part is that while I haven't seen previews of the dwarf one, I can only imagine ourselves laughing our asses off at burping dwarfs. Then again, we probably aren't always the most appropriate family. DS burps and before we remind him to say "excuse me" we all laugh together at/with him because he thinks it's the greatest thing.
What age are we supposed to work on manners? I think we are falling behind I'm some aspects!
People who start gofundme's to benefit themselves and then post begging for donations all over Facebook are the worst kind of people. Pay for your shit yourself, sorry not sorry that you paid $800 for pure bred and now can't afford to get it neutered.

Refer them to the Humane Alliance! Around here they charge $65 for dogs.
I don't like baby kicks. I appreciate them in the fact that they mean he is active and doing well in there, but it's not a feeling I enjoy. And I've never been one to say while not pregnant that I miss the kicks or enjoyed that part of pregnancy.
Aww. I love the kicks. Its one of my favorite parts I know it really creeps some people out though.

I understand this. They can be really uncomfortable! Kicks in the ribs or bladder? No fun.

We told them about several affordable options, it fell on deaf ears.
I'm totally guilty of paying a grand for our german shepherd. But we can afford his vet bills, neutering, vaccines, healthy food etc. I can't imagine asking other people to neuter my dog- that's crazy! The reason we went pure bred was so we would have a clearer idea of what type of dog we were getting into, and we knew the people who owned/bred the mom, so we knew more about what kind of care the puppies received. It made a difference to me knowing that she bred her dogs to avoid breed specific health problems like hip displasia too.
That said, if we ever get a dog again, I may go the mutt/shelter route.
Not an opinion, but I must confess my sins. I just googled how Sofia became a princess. The intro just isn't clear enough. I needed to know.
isn't there a whole episode about it? I thought her mom was the kings seamstress?
Probably. I haven't watched enough to really know what is going on, but the intro said she became a princess overnight, but those twins seem like they have been royal forever. It was not adding up for me. It was on my mind this morning. How much more lame can my life get?
I never saw the episode Holly is talking about and I was wondering too. I googled it a few weeks ago while L was watching. #youarenotalone

I never knew that Amber and James were twins until the episode about their birthday where he becomes a toddler. They just don't make it clear in the show that they're twins.

Miranda was a shoe maker. They fell in love when they went to hand deliver his shoes. What is WRONG with you people??!?!
S/O Disney...I eyeroll people who say their kids will never watch Disney because it's anti-feminist or teaches girls to be helpless or any of that nonsense. Even the older movies, while not exactly in line with modern ideas on women's roles, have positive role models for girls (ex--Cinderella worked hard and stayed positive, didn't just "wait for someone to save her." And hey, she was kind to animals. Always nice, right?) And if there are parts that don't line up with the values you want to teach, just talk about that. "What would you have done instead of what she did?"

I miss kicks. That was the best part of being pregnant.

I think there's something to be said for doing your research on a pet. Our dog had a few homes before DH adopted him, and his asshole behaviors were well-ingrained and some were never broken.

If you have any questions about Sophia the First I'm here all day. Is that another confession?
I just didn't care for pregnancy in general and I miss nothing about it. I felt that way with my first pregnancy, but there wasn't enough disdain for it to not have a second, but pregnancy sucks! The reward is worth every ounce...obviously.
I'm laughing that we are all grown and so concerned about Sofia. I did see the episode where she became a princess but I'm still highly curious what happened to the other parents (Sofia's dad, twins mom). People need to know.
UO- I like the villains of the Disney movies more than the princesses. I squealed when I found the Ursula doll at Meijer last night. If I found Ezma from the Emperors New Groove or Cruella from 101 Dalmations I'd be stoked and probably knock a child over for it. Not really, but deep down I'd want to. The Disney Store here at the mall has Mother Gothel, Maleficent, and The Evil Queen from Snow White. I sent them all to my nieces.
I hate Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Listening to Mickey's voice makes me feel stabby. I also hate Sherrif Cali and those damn singing chipmunks. But Nancy loves it and says "Yee Haw" every time she comes on, so I just busy myself with something else Thank God the kid only watches 3 or 4 minutes at a time before she's running into a different room.

This totally.
Add me to the "Sofia know it all club" DD loves it and has a talking Sofia doll already and everything. She tells me "Fia coming!" and claps when it's about to start. How does Disney know how to start a cult/brainwash so well?

I know someone who did this to get a stray dog from Afghanistan home to be a pet. They blasted it all over FB and got their goal within an hour. People kept donating though. They ended up with thousands more than needed. They pocketed it. In the end they didn't even keep the dog because he was aggressive to others (had a really bad experience in quarantine while in Kabul).
But yeah...wtf.
I totally understand doing this to bring that dog here, but it should be closed down as soon as their goal is met. Keeping extra money is super shady and boarder line theft.

I also kind of side-eye gofundme and other sites--wouldn't it be easy to cap the donations at the stated amount ("We need $X for Y project"), and not allow donations beyond that? I'd think that would cut down on this kind of thing.
A girl I went to HS with wanted a homebirth and started a GoFundMe page. It was ridiculous. She was like a thousand dollars away from her goal and kept blasting it all over FB with captions like "This is the only kid we're ever going to have--if you haven't gotten us a shower present, please press the donate button!" Seriously. it was asinine.
And all she does is complain about her kid on FB. ALL. THE. TIME. I mean, like everyday she's complaining about her kid. She won't let her see any screens, or play with any "modern" toys. Modern = anything with batteries. So duh, of course the kid is going to find taking all your tupperware out of the cabinet entertaining!

I tell DH this all the time. He gets irritated when she is playing with tupperware or whatever. Then I remind him he won't let her watch tv. He just doesn't understand why playing with her toys is not enough.

Not trying to be snarky, but what's wrong with playing with Tupperware/rubbermaid?

I hope this isn't a UO: when you're losing weight, your before picture/weight should not be from when you're in the hospital about to give birth. I have several friends losing weight, and they're pictures are of them in the hospital gown, hooked up to the contraction monitor. Umm no, you were pregnant then. That doesn't count.
