WWYS- What would you serve?

I want to do some sort of self serve food bar for A's first birthday. Seeing as it will be October and outside (and we live in the PNW) I would like it to be warm, but still fun. Which would you serve/eat/enjoy the most?

  • I think nachos aren't liked by everyone. Potatoes are pretty neutral.

  • I'm always down for a mashed potato/ baked potato bar! We had one at our wedding and it was the one thing I was willing to spend extra on it was amazing.
  • Baked potato bar! Mm.

  • Tough call for me, but potatoes and nachos are towards the top of my favorite foods list. I think it's going to depend on your guests. Nachos are a little more eat with your hands while potatoes are more of a sit down with a fork thing.
  • I'm digging @quartermisses‌ soup idea too! I love soup especially in the fall. You could serve it in mugs which you could get pretty cheaply from the $1 or just get disposable cups for hot liquid. I bet you might be able to get some custom soup bowls of etsy even...sooo many possibilities.
  • I vote mashed potato bar.

  • I LOVE nachos so I voted nachos, but potatoes sound equally as delicious.

We are having either a create your own cookie bar or an ice cream sundae bar at LO's party, but we are in Texas and October isn't necessarily cold here.

Please find a bowl that will fit perfectly inside a carved pumpkin to use as your serving dish.

(This is really all I want out of any October party.)

My SIL had a chili/soup (and wine!) bar at her baby shower and it was a hit! I'd vote nachos, but I agree they might not last long.

    Ooh, DIY ice cream sundaes!
