Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Sweaty hands and feet 4 month old

Hi all,
My daughter is 4 months old and probably since she was 2 months she's had sweaty hands and feet, I even found her one morning in her crib with a wet spot by her feet. Anyway I understand if she has clothes on she will sweat, it's summer... But she's actually just in a diaper right now in our air conditioned house and she has sweaty feet. Anyone else's baby doing this? My first daughter never had this happen. I did ask her doctor but he didn't think anything of it. I'm not worried in just curious if anyone has the same thing going on. Thanks

  • My LO seems to have moist hands but I think that's from him putting his hand in his mouth and closing his hand.

  • She might have hyperhidrosis. It's basically overactive sweat glands. I have it and my son has had it since he was a baby too. I believe hands and feet are usually the most commons places to sweat extra if you have it. I would ask the doctor about it at your next check-up, but I wouldn't worry at all. I do nothing to treat mine, it is just sometimes embarrassing if I am shaking someone's hand.

  • we had the same problem with both kids. DD1 is now 2 and still has that problem. DD2 started about a month ago. I asked our Pedi and she said it was completely normal and many babies sweat on their hands, feet, and head, especially when they are falling asleep
