What to engrave on hostess picture frame?

I foudn some nice silver picture frames on sale at pottery barn.  You can get them engraved with up to 20 characters.  Should I put the date of the shower on there or should I customize each one with the hostess initials?  Thank you!

Re: What to engrave on hostess picture frame?

  • Thats a hard one, I'm leaning more towards initials.
  • Loading the player...
  • I was thinking initials but then thought it would be nice to put the date as well and then get a group picture and later on give them a picture of us to put in the frame... I dunno!
  • Whoo Hoo...I am glad you liked them!  Right now I am leaning towards inititals, but maybe you could do something with DC's name and the person?  Like "Jonah and Me"  (I am totally blanking on your DC's name, and the reply doesn't show your ticker!  Sorry!)
  • I really like the Jonah and Me idea, really cute. That way, its not just another frame for them.  They have something to look forward to.
  • I think their initials would be better..
  • ROFL! Thanks ladies but I'm still torn! I love love the jonah and me idea but think I might just go with initials to be safe.
  • LOL What? Do you think there's a chance the techs could be wrong??
  • Oooh, you ladies just gave me a great idea! My mom and MIL are hosting the shower and we haven't told them our baby girls name yet.  Getting a frame engraved with her name on it would be a great way to tell them their granddaughters name Big Smile

  • NO not at all I've had two ultrasounds and he's definitely a boy just think it's safer to go with initials :)

LMAO good to hear, he's def a boy. Our tech never actually showed us and said "well it looks like a boy", so poor DH isn't 100% convinced its a boy.  So we may go and pay for another u/s, just so we can be for sure.

  • is it 20 characters per frame? as a former engraving expert i'm going to have to disagree on the initials and say go with their names instead. initials look really awkward once they're engraved bc of the way the frame is shaped....unless it's a tiny frame.
  • I thought the engraving was free but it's not so I may not even get them.  I'd have to spend over 100 dollars...
