So DD (3.5) woke up yesterday afternoon from her nap and was saying her leg hurt. She was walking on her tip toes a bit but still playing and mostly acting normal. I just thought maybe she'd slept in a funny angle or something. She went to gymnastics last night and wouldn't really participate because she was afraid of hurting her leg which really isn't like her. After gymnastics she wouldn't bend her knee at all and couldn't take off her shoes, pants, etc. We gave her some Motrin and put her to bed and to see how she'd be today.
This morning she woke up and will not stand on her leg at all. She screams if we try to bend it so we called the doctor and he said her knee was a little swollen. He sent us for X-rays and bloodwork both of which came back normal. He said she must have tweaked it somehow (I'm wracking my brain but I didn't see her get hurt) and that she should be better in 48 hours. So for now just rest and more Motrin.
Has anyone had their LOs do this? Did they bounce right back? DD is very sensitive and so afraid of hurting it more and I feel so bad for her. Also, we are leaving for vacation on Friday and I'm sort of nervous she won't have any made any progress by then. Anyone deal with something like this? Thanks!
