My aunt gave me this doll from my childhood, that I had given to her daughter, to pass on to Tessa. Well, of course she loves it because it makes a really soothing bell sound when she moves. But the doll is G.R.O.S.S. Her hair, her face, her body. Poor Nelly Belly is lookin her age, and is covered with god knows what from her 33 years. Any tips on "freshening" her up and making her a little cleaner for dd?
Re: Can this doll be restored?
Letranger probably has some good tips now that you posted a pic...
Instinct tells me avoid the washer for the face/hair... OTOH, the body often can easily be amputated, put through the wash, then surgically reattached using either the cord or a zip tie.. I have some dolls with a pretty similar head... Use an alcohol wipe on the face, HOWEVER do not use it on anything that's painted like the eyes because it can lift them right off...
