MEMBRANE SWEEP? HELP???

only me again :') i have a question- which is probably silly and sooo obvious but, i would like some answers from you ladies? i trust you more than i trust google ha ha!! sooo, i had my midwife app today. she said the top of the babies head is in my pelvis which is good as its making its way down, I'm measuring well and bp is steady ( for a change.) then she said she would like to see me next week (39weeks) and if nothing has been happening she will give me a membrane sweep. If that doesn't trigger anything off, she will give me another one the week after (at 40weeks) and if nothing happens.. she will book me for an induction 13 days after my due date.. which will be the 11th August. My questions to you ladies are.. how many of you have had membranes swept and gone into labour? not gone into labour?? does it hurt?? just the term sounds scary enough!!! is it worse than a cerclage ?? ha ha ! love you all!!!

I just had mine swept twice... Once last Monday and again yesterday just to make sure it worked. I'm still here. Haha honestly, I don't think it hurts any worse than a cervical check for dilation. You WILL... And I repeat... WILL bleed. So don't freak out. You'll probably have a lot of bloody discharge that will turn brown. You'll also have a lot of cramping and possible contractions.

Now, with my DD I went into labor immediately and she was born the next day!! This time, baby brother is being stubborn. It definitely gives me some pretty intense contractions but hasn't turned into full blown labor. I recommend it if you feel comfortable doing it. I figure it can't hurt anything and can only help! @CaitNMatt omgosh sounds so scary! ha ha i have no idea why i am feeling all funny about this ! think its the terminology thats putting me off!

@patch89 I hope I didn't scare you!!! Haha I just know when I had it done with DD that the bleeding I had after scared me and I wanted you to be aware it's possible!

@CaitNMatt ummmm lol I'm just really curious and like to get as many details as possible ha ha well, I'm sure you will see a post on how it went and if i survived ha thank you though! at least i won't freak out ...
