This check-in is open to anyone that is part of the SAIF community and is currently pregnant.

 

If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below and include you EDD and how many beans you have cooking.

 

Checkin is every Tuesday, feel free to post updates all week.

 

Q: What is one thing you look forward to in your second pregnancy that you didn’t have with your first?

 

Ducky719 – 7/9 i had a very early u/s this AM bc i am leaving for vacation in the poconos early tom. We saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac that the doc said she could almost see the crown to rump. I am so thrilled and this will put me at ease while away. Next u/s is 7/21!

Cwhitaker27 - 3/12 - 25 weeks today. Had my GTT on Monday. I haven't heard anything back, so far no news is good news. Continuing to be team green!

Eve_Angelique – 6/25 Almost 31 weeks! Eeeeek! Little lady is doing lots of squirming in there. I am just praying that she doesn't come early!!they didn't get good enough pics of her spine, so I had another today, it was so good to see her squirming around in there! 

Kdfecarie, EDD 8/29/14 (CS 8/22/14) 7/2- 32 weeks now, its getting closer and closer every day!  nothing else to up date right now... Still waiting! 

 

carrera317 – 4/30 - Wow. I guess I've been MIA for a while! 22 weeks here and doing ok. It's finally starting to settle into my infertile mind that I just might bring this baby home! Freak out time!!! All tests and our ultrasound have looked great. We went on a nice vacation to the Caribbean for our 10 year anniversary and now are starting to prep for this new one. It looks like I'm amongst good company with a due date of 9/2 but a probable c section the week before (just not the 29th cuz that's MY birthday!). 

Kissies - 4/30 - So I'm 23 weeks now, went to ob this week and my b/p starting to elevate 130/90. I had her check my other arm and it was normal. The elevated arm is the arm I have carpal tunnel in and of course the 3 blood pressure checks made it act up! I got labs done as baseline and all looked good and urine was negative. Still on makena to prevent preterm labor (hate it makes me super emotional and cry like 24 hrs after taking it weekly). I'm afraid I'll be a nervous wreck come 28 weeks because that' when my water broke last time. Trying to stay calm and keep that blood pressure down ) I go back next week because of blood pressure. 

LeoLauren - 1/15 - It's official. BFP x 2! Omg (what I'll be saying a lot for the next 7 months)!

 

LuvBoston, EDD 3/9/15- BFP Beta Trouble Waiting on U/S

Mnerani – 7/2 Next week starts the third tri for me. It's flying by unbelievably fast- probably because the move from Kenya to the U.S. has been so consuming. We are settling in though and I'm trying to take it easier than I have been. Feeling great, not overly pregnant, and even brave enough to sport a two piece during our daily trips to our neighborhood pool 

 

Ironmom2be - 4/2 - My update is I'm in limbo between RE & OB. First OB appt isn't for another two weeks. Since I was still spotting last week, my RE offered to have me come in for another u/s, so that's next tuesday (9w) I'm feeling ok, seems like exercising is causing the spotting (my scientific study) so I'm trying to balance staying active enough that I don't feel like a slug and doing too much to cause spotting. I'm tired and nauseous (at times) so I'm just counting my blessings and hoping the 1st tri is over asap so my worries can hopefully fade a little

BabyKsMommy - EDD 11.27.14 -7/9- I am 19 weeks with boy/girl twins. They are both doing great. I'm just now getting some energy back which is fantastic. My house could use some major attention. We had a little scare after my 2n tri blood work but everything looks good as of right now.  

ccam - EDD 11.29.14 – 7/9 Our A/S is today.  I'm excited and anxious to see the LO and make sure everything is ok.  We are staying strong and going team green again. 

 

Pennylane26 - EDD 11.26.14 – 7/9 Nothing new! A/S is on Tuesday 7/15. Can't wait to find out the sex! I am thinking girl, but I think that's just because that's all I know.

srveatch –7/9 A/S scheduled for Wednesday 7/16. I am excited to find out the sex of the baby. I keep thinking maybe it's a boy but who knows? QOTW: I want nothing more than to spend the week at the beach with cocktail in hand... I am saving vacation time for maternity leave so that will have to wait until next summer.

 

mdiblasi10 –EDD 1/30/15- 7/9 I can't believe I will be 11 weeks tomorrow! I am looking forward to my weekly ultrasound tomorrow and my first OB appointment on Monday.

 

Mayzie15- I'm struggling with this pregnancy. I'm extremely tired and anemic and taking iron pills. I have some morning sickness but not a lot like last time. I still very uneasy about this pregnancy being successful and I hate that I feel this way. I have genetics discussions and tests on Monday - which scares me more. Sorry to be a downer - on a high note today is my last day for endometriin and I'm happy about that!

 

Robeano-EDD 2/3/15 7/9 Things are still going good. I'm tired all the time, wondering if I have low iron like I did last time, just did my initial blood work yesterday, looking to get the information back. I have my last RE appointment next week, I'm a little sad b/c it will be goodbye forever. We only ever wanted two children and this is it. Also, my best friend is pregnant and due two weeks after me, I'm really excited!!

Wow I can't believe how many of your ladies are due right around each other in november!! Can't wait to see everyone's post regarding their anatomy scans! That is by far my favorite appointment because you get to see your babies for such a long period of time. 

Eve_Angelique & Kdfecarie how are you ladies feeling so close to the finish line??

I'm 11w4d today. I took my last PIO shot and estrogen pill on Thursday. Woohoo!!!! I still have all-day nausea and I'm eating non-stop, but the overall yucky feeling I was having is beginning to subside. And I've already popped ">

QOTW: I had my first OB appointment yesterday and found out that my OB and hospital allow me to have a VBAC! All this time I thought I had to have a RCS. My OB did say I have to go into labor on my own by 39 - 39 1/2 weeks, so they do not induce for a VBAC. But I am so thrilled to know I can try if it works out. I was never even able to labor last time as I had an emergency c-section.

We had our A/S last week and everything looks great!  Baby is measuring on track and all of the little parts are where they should be.  We are still team green.  The baby was very modest and did not flash the goods.  The u/s tech said she didn't even get a good look. 

QOTW: I'm looking forward to the fact that I can actually get a nursery ready this time!  With DS, we were building a house and living in a temporary apartment by the time he was here.  I'm hoping with this baby, I can be a little more settled and not so preoccupied with house stuff when he or she arrives!

We had an u/s yesterday and at first the tech only saw the sac and was panicking, she brought my MFM in and then I was panicking but we have one baby with a good heartbeat in there. My MFM thinks I'm bleeding because I am on to much blood thining medication. The Beer center disagrees so I'm waiting for them to duke it out. I have a 9 inch hematoma on my stomach from the Lovenox and several other little ones. Repeat u/s next Thursday.
Q: I look forward to having more control and less stress. If I bleed unless I'm gushing I will just wait until the morning to go in instead of going to triage. Last pg I was in triage 28x. And we will be starting free fetal DNA earlier to try and stop the circus that occurred last time.

Today is my last day of progesterone!! So excited!

I also have my first midwife appointment tomorrow. Hopefully we'll be able to hear the heartbeat with their Doppler!!

I have my last RE appointment and ultrasound scheduled for next Tuesday.

I'm finding this pregnancy to be different than last one and it was starting to freak me out last night. I'm a little worried that we won't hear the heartbeat tomorrow. But trying to remain positive!

QOTW: I guess I'm looking forward to being less stressed out, so far I have been far less worried than with the first one. Seeing as it had a positive outcome I feel more hopeful that my body knows what to do know.

Update: It's a boy! At our a/s this morning we found out we are team blue this time around and we are so excited! He was a little wild man, it took over an hour to get measurements b/c he was so active, but he is perfectly healthy (as far as they can tell) and measuring right on track at 20 weeks. He will be named Cal William after my husband's grandfather.

QOTW: Now I'm excited to buy little boy things!

Had my 11 week ultrasound yesterday and my doc tried to find the heartbeat with the Doppler and couldn't - my heart sank. There was some panic while she got the ultrasound machine out and plugged it in. We finally got to see our little one doing flips - apparently that's why my doctor couldn't find the hearbeat because if all the activity . EDD is 02/01/15 and measuring right on track. Huge sigh of relief for MH and I. I will be doing the harmony test next week and hoping everything looks good and we will find out the sex of the baby. I want to wait but MH has to know

QOTW I'm really looking for a time that I feel truly comfortable in this pregnancy - with my DS I was always worried something would happen up until the day he was born. I'm really hoping once the genetic testing is out of the way I will enjoy this pregnancy.

Just wanted to update here. I'm not pregnant anymore cause baby is here. Scarlett arrived via induction at 5 days overdue on 7.1.2014. She is happy healthy and gaining weight like a champ. She is 2 weeks old today.

@PennyLane26‌ congrats!!! So excited for your healthy little boy. Let the shopping commence!

I'm 19w6d my official EDD is 12/3 but 11/27 is fine too. I hope they come out sometime in November. I already had my anatomy scan and everything looks good. Both babies are doing great. I finally felt little boy move today, which was a first. Little girl is so active and up high so I've been feeling her for a while.

QOTW: this pregnancy is so different from the first. I actually am more worried this time because of the multiples factor. But I'm glad I have the experience of my first pregnancy because I know what to expect.

We had our first u/s this morning. 6w1d, measuring 6w, heartbeat at 112. Next u/s is next Friday. QOTW: I'm hoping to not spot for the whole time this time! On top of the stress factor, I was on pelvic rest the whole time and could barely lift anything. That would be really hard with a toddler! So I'm crossing my fingers that I can be "normal" this time.

@Mayzie15‌ so glad to hear everything is going well. I think about you a lot!

To everybody else a question, how are you finding this pregnancy compared to your last? I'm finding somethings different and it's mildly freaking me out!! All I know is my pregnancy with Hannah, so I'm expecting the same.

Also anybody else dreading third trimester? Ihad a rough time with my hips and no sleep. I am not looking forward to that again! Although feeling the baby move was awrsome!

@Robeano Definitely different! In fact, almost everything has been completely different, at least so far. I am also having a girl this time so I wonder how much that changes things. I have felt so terrible that I thought for sure, several times, that I was losing the baby. It hasn't been fun. But this week, things seem to be getting better. I hope you aren't too uncomfortable in the third tri. I actually enjoyed that part the most last time. Big belly, lots of movement, everyone was so nice

@robeano - soooo different. Night and day. I don't know if it's because I have less time to dwell on symptoms with a toddler at home or if the idea that boy vs. girl pregnancies really ARE different is true, but this pregnancy has been wayyyy easier. Less stressful, feeling great - I'm just loving pregnancy! I feel bad admitting it, but when I was pregnant with G I felt horrible and I couldn't wait for it to be over, this is so much better! I'm only anxious about later in 3rd tri with my BP issues and the fear of having Pre-E again.

Well I had my A/S this morning and everything they could see looked good. The baby wouldn't cooperate and the cord was between it's legs so they couldn't tell the sex. I never even thought about not finding out today. They scheduled me for a 3D ultrasound tomorrow to get a few pics if the heart and spine and to find out the sex. This pregnancy is completely different than the last. I am carrying completely higher and haven't gained as much weight. I threw up more in first tri but my second tri has been way easier! It may be having the toddler at home that distracts me from symptoms.

@robeano thanks for thinking me . This pregnancy has been different than with my son. I knew we were having a boy because it came to me in a dream during the beginning of our IF struggle. MH is convinced this one is a girl. I have less morning sickness this time. I couldn't look at sweets with my son and I crave sour patch kids and sweets with this one. I could barely eat before and all I want now is fast food. With my son my skin was amazing, now my skin is breaking out. It does make me wonder if he's right...

@robeano this pg is very different I don't feel pg at all and then sometimes if I don't eat I get nauseous. Also I'm not gushing blood everyday so I hardly know what To worry about. Also I just made peace with myself I know that after 7 pg I can do this and if my body can't I know I can survive and that's what I hang on to. I am also handling the docs differently and not allowing them to drive me batty. I loved third tri because I got a bump and I never really got a bump before because LO was in my back the whole pg.

@robeano This pregnancy is so much different than my last!  I was much more sick the first trimester, although I'm feeling better now.  And I'm just so exhausted!  I don't know if its the fact that I can't go home and lay down after work or if it's just DS that makes me exhausted!  I also feel huge at this point compared to last time.  I'll sit on the floor to play with DS and find it hard to get up.  Everyone tells me I look great and DH says I'm no bigger than last time, but I feel it!  I'm also so preoccupied with DS that there are times I forget that I'm pregnant.  It's just completely different!

I also think I'm carrying differently, which everyone keeps telling me means I'm having a girl.  But who knows!  I just knew it was a boy with DS but no definite feelings this time.

Update: so my dd was due august 29th. I had couple of tests for preterm labor that came back negative. well I thought I had horrible stomach pain surprise preterm labor! We tried to stop it and get steriods but I was she was born about 4 hrs later at 30 weeks 3 days. So our daughter was born june 23rd at 3lbs 11oz 17 inches long. She's been in nicu trucking along for last 3 and half weeks. It was a blessing she came though because as I was pushing during my vbac they decided to use a vaccuum which was a big no no when I had my 29 weeker twins. Dr. said babys heartbeat not doing good and it was quicker than c section. Well come to find out my placenta abrupted!

Thanks lady they always say plan for discharge at due date. Hoping shes like. Her brothers and comes home couple weeks early so i have some time before going back to work. They finally let her try a bottle today and she did well. Funny how normal things become huge milestones.

Just one boy bean in there.

Update: Starting up week 29 and just now starting to feel pregnant- i.e. large and slow. This pregnancy continues to fly by due to the craziness of an international move. This week we started potty training DS, so that's been pretty all-consuming. My goal is to have some semblance of a nursery by the end of the week. So far, #2's "nursery" is just an extra storage room for our random crap.

QOTW: I didn't have any family around for pregnancy #1 since we were in Africa. In particular, I'm really looking forward to having my sisters present at the birth.
