Weight gain with FET meds?

Good morning,

I have to keep my weight in check in order to go through IVF and FET.  I'm waiting to get started on an FET cycle and I am just where I need to be BMI-wise.  During my first IVF cycle that ended in a loss I gained about 15 lbs.  I know the weight gain was a combination of the post-ET meds, going from lots of exercise to occasional walks, and relaxing my diet somewhat.  After the ET I was on endometrium (suppository) and estrace (pill).

For my FET cycle, I will be doing estrogen shots and PIO before and after the ET.

I know that for some (not all) certain meds are notorious for adding on the pounds.  Are PIO and Estrogen shots known for weight gain?    I know there can be wait time between IF cycles, and I'm just trying to make sure my weight isn't the cause for a delay in moving to another IVF cycle if my FET doesn't work.

Re: Weight gain with FET meds?

  • I lost a little weight during my FETs from walking nightly. It certainly wasn't from any dietary changes; I eat my stress!

  • You'll probably put on some bloat weight; progesterone in particular causes some nasty bloat. I did put on a little weight during my last FET prep, but I honestly think it might have been depression/diet related, more than the drugs.

    GL!

I gained 4 lbs. of bloat weight while stimming but now 4 days post ET I have now lost it.  I'm now on Estrace and PIO.

    Good Luck! :)
