so if your friends invite you to a cookout/bbq/outdoor eating, and you have to work, but you decide you want to fake an illness and call in/out sick...how do you respond to your friend?

"Im down." Is a phrase Ive used. Probably too much. "Im so in/there." Is another. For me to be "up" for something it usually requires me to psych myself up.

Saying, "I'm down," makes me think you're excited to go. Saying, "I'm up for it," implies (to me) you're being convinced to go.

I probably wouldn't really say either, but I've heard both said.  I agree with PP in that "up for it" seems a little like you don't really want to but you will.

there's that one song..not blink. something hip-hop/pop-ish...came out..maybe 3-4 years ago.  or older. who knows. i'm not hip.

okay i just asked my younger coworker... (i had to sing it for him..it was fantastic). jay sean, and it's called "down".

but maybe there's a blink song too.
