Tried and True Chocolate Buttercream recipe?

Hey mamas-- long story short... I'm making 300 cupcakes next week for a charity event to help out a local family whose 5 month old was just diagnosed with cancer. I'm doing 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 vanilla cupcakes, and I'm looking for great, tried and true, yummy chocolate buttercream recipes. I have an awesome vanilla recipe and a really great vanilla coffee recipe, but I don't ever really make chocolate buttercreams (mainly bc my husband and family love the coffee one, and I'm actually allergic to chocolate-- crazy I know!!). Anyone have a great recipe they are willing to share/ link up? I would greatly appreciate the help! Happy bumping!

I filled my gender reveal cake with this it's nice and firm when cool, too.

Just read the recipe and though I don't eat chocolate, it sounds amazing! I love Swiss meringue buttercreams!! I can't wait to try, and I know my family will love it as well. Thanks!

My go to lazy chocolate buttercream is to pretty much follow the vanilla buttercream recipe, but swap 1/3-1/2 of the icing sugar with cocoa powder.

@cindyNmark2010‌ I don't really know what I'm missing bc I never really liked it as a child-- probably my body just having a natural aversion to it. It gives me the most insane migraines-- totally not worth it to me I can't even stand the smell-- that alone has the power to give me a nasty headache. My husband and 3 year old LOVE chocolate, esp dark, so I end up baking chocolate cakes and cupcakes all the time for them. It's good that I can't eat it though-- with all the baking id be huge if I ate it all the time

@KTgator Yeah, I hear that.  DH is a chocolate/peanut butter freak and I love to cook and bake....but I also love to eat

Also- for plain vanilla just leave out the coffee.

I have not really found a vanilla cake recipe that I love yet. For this event (bc I have to make so many) I am going to use cake mixes from the store.

My husband makes something with Ina Garten's chocolate buttercream recipe at least twice a year. It has never failed us. It is delicious

I'm baking next week to freeze for the event on 8/8. I will make all the buttercreams the day of and pipe it on then

I have decided to make a few different buttercream flavors:
Vanilla
Chocolate
Coffee
Lemon
And vanilla Bailey's cream

I will post a picture the night of the event so that you guys can see them! I'm so excited! Please pray that we sell out! Our local community and even friends and family members from far and wide have come together to support this awesome family it's a beautiful thing!

I haven't found a vanilla cupcake recipe that I love either, the last time I made them from scratch they were so dry

Y'all are making me want to eat frosting. I have a recipe somewhere for Nutella swirl cupcakes with Nutella buttercream frosting. Yum! I may have to make these today...
