NBR: dinner fail!!

DH and I began kitchen demo tonight. I planned to cook one last good meal before going without a kitchen for at least 2 weeks. After ham was baking for an hour, I took it out only to discover it had been wrapped in a second layer of plastic!?! I have never encountered that before. And of course it happens tonight! I actually contemplated eating it anyway :-/
So now it's 9:35p and we're waiting for the delivery guy to get here with dinner. :-w

  • I'm in much better spirits after some eggplant parm from our favorite takeout place. Yea this was definitely a night we will remember. Glad I could laugh about it instead of breaking down into pregnant hormonal hysterics

  • I once messed up pudding so bad that even Draino couldn't get the remains out of the pot. Not my finest moment...
  • That stinks. Sorry dinner was not what you had planned.

    Eat and relax.

I have only seen 1 layer if plastic around a ham. I would call the store you got it from and tell them.

  • Eek! Oh well, at least there's take out, plus it will be a really funny memory to look back ok:)

  • I'm sorry-I had myself a giggle. I would've been so PISSED!  Glad it turned out OK with your takeout. Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself :-)

  • Oh no!

But I did have to chuckle at it.  We did a kitchen reno last year and have memories of the two weeks without any kitchen (and then another two weeks of a partial kitchen).  Restaurants and frozen meals got old, quickly.
