Engorgement Question

Hello,

I have a 3 week old baby and am having trouble with engorgement but just on one side.  My right side rarely ever feels full but the left side is huge, painful, and super itchy because of the stretch marks the engorgement is causing.  Every time I feed baby I want to feed her from the left side to relieve the pressure but I also feed on the right side afterwards.  Is there anything I can do other than pump a little to relieve the pain?  Will this even out eventually? will pumping make it worse and should I continue to try and completely drain the left side by feeding from it all the time or will that make it worse?

Thanks!

I would suggest trying to hand express or pump a little until you feel less engorged. I wouldn't try to get to empty unless you are having other issues as this will just cause you to make more milk.
