Got my last blood work result back

Looks like I have a blood clotting disorder that is probably what caused the miscarriages and possibly the ectopic (per the nurse, she said I'd need to talk to my doctor for more info). I really wish I had known so I could have been on medicine and maybe I wouldn't have lost my babies and maybe could have preserved my tube. I was a crying mess after she called - and we're on vacation. I'm glad I know so we'll know what to do if we proceed with IVF, but my heart is breaking. My body failed my babies.

Did they rec anything to start taking NOW? Like, baby aspirin may be all you need. What exactly is your clotting issue if you don't mind me asking? It's the nurse in me I can't help it.

Having answers for our losses (or potential answers) helped me find some closure with my losses too. Big hugs.

I'm so sorry you got that news. I know that was hard to hear   At least now you know an you can be proactive. ((hugs))

I am sorry that you have to deal with this. The one good thing is that now they can treat it. I have seen a lot of women with clotting disorders at work who have had successful pregnancies with the proper treatment.

I cannot remember the name of it. We were down at the beach so I couldn't write it down. I'm going to call back in the morning.

I feel so guilty, like it's all my fault that my little ones didn't survive.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this... don't beat yourself up over things you didn't know.  NOW you know and you can work with your doctor and figure out a plan that will maximize success for you.  Good luck!

I am sorry that you got this news, but atleast you have something you can do. I have a friend who lost her little girl because of a clotting issue and she was able to go on and have two heathly LO's so I guess maybe try to look on the side where you can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Hugs and serioulsy this isnt something that you could control it's just a crappy thing that happened and now you should be able to prevent it from happening again. Good Luck!

I don't know about you, but I have Factor V Leiden, have to be on blood thinners through all of my IF treatment.  I got lucky and found out after a near fatal PE that had nothing to do with babies.

They said I only have to take anything if we decide to proceed with IVF. I have an appt with my ob next week (she wanted to see me a few weeks ago to see how I was after my ectopic post op but I haven't been able to emotionally see her and walk into the office) so I'm going to talk with her about it. It's good to have answer, I just wish it hadn't come AFTER I lost my third baby and last tube. Shoot if I'm wishing, I wish I hadn't lost any of my babies and that none of us were dealing with this struggle.

i'm just wondering if that really caused it if you had 3 healthy pregnancies? do clotting issues develop suddenly sometimes? i thought it was something you were born with. no point in beating yourself up for something you had no control over anyway.
