Called out. Fo sure. I asked five co-workers and they said the same thing. But really we all text our boss (his request) and don't call as usually he's in morning status meetings.
I say IN but it's irrelevant since I'd have to be dying to call in sick.
As someone who doesn't want to catch the plague from my coworkers, I side-eye you for this
I don't know. I think I depends on each individual workplace policies. As it is, since I called off (or out or in) this week, imma have to wait til February before calling off/out/in again, unless I'm in dire straights, lest I lose my job.

Well that is pretty shitty. It's much more lenient at my employer.
SS: I say "call off" of work. I guess because my parents said that and my first few jobs phrased it like that. I would call to say I need to be "off work" for the day so it makes sense to me. I hardly ever call off FTR though.
I just recently heard someone talk about calling "out" and thought it souded strange. But I can see how that makes sense too.

However I ask FI and others if they called OUT sick. So I think its 50/50.
I've also heard/said of "calling off" work. Never out.
This. No convictions.
