City Select owners - come in!

Hi there, I decided on the City Select stroller (I have a toddler plus twins on the way). How do you like yours? If you used it with the car seat adapters, how has that worked out? What about the glider board?

I'm also looking for a good parent console for it (with a cupholder and compartments. The Baby Jogger one did not get good reviews.

What console do you have? Links appreciated :)

Re: City Select owners - come in!

  • I registered for the City Select, too. I got Britax car seats because the CS makes adaptors specifically for those seats. At BuyBuyBaby they did a demo for me - the seats literally click right in. I think if you have other brands, you have to strap the seats in, which I wasn't willing to do every time. I believe they work with one other seat (Uppa?).

  • I have the City Select, which I used with two Chicco Keyfit 30 infant seats and the Englacha Junior X-rider attachment instead of the actual Baby Jogger brand glider board. The Chicco seats definitely do click into the adapters securely, and I never used the straps. I have the Baby Jogger parent console as well and I have no complaints, really - it holds a cup well enough, has room for my phone and keys and whatever else I wasn't going to shove into my purse, diaper bag, or basket.

  • We have the CS and love it!  My girls are almost a year and we use it all the time.  Very easy to assemble.  We had the Chicco keyfit 30 infant seats.  The console we have is the Skip Hop one...we like it!

  • So with the double CS, is there somewhere for my toddler to ride on as well? Or is there a seat to buy to add to the stroller?

  • Do you need to purchase an adapter for the Chicco keyfit to work?
  • I ordered the CS and received it yesterday. We plan on using it with the Britax B-safe car seats since the adapter was the cheapest out of all the adapters. The adapters are SOLD OUT everywhere though. Don't know about the glider since we will only have just the twins.. plan on buying the parent console BJ sells, didn't think of anything else.

  • @adpilove‌ For your toddler most people I've seen get the Englacha Junior X-rider or the BJ brand glider board for the back. @SereJane‌ the City Select does not come with any accessories, so yes you have to buy an adapter for each car seat.

  • I've never had anything extra for ours, but just wanted to say that you made a good choice! My twins are 2.5 and it's still going strong. My 5 year old even squeezes in for a ride when one of the twins wants to walk.
We've had them in it (laying down) since they were pretty little, so never really needed an adapter for car seats. I just stash all my stuff in the underneath bin.

  • Ours is by far the best purchase we made. This thing is a lifesaver. The glider board fits very awkwardly but it gets the job done to get in & out of stores with a toddler.

So if I found a two year old city select on craigslist nearby for $400 is that a good deal?

  • @kefttsc‌ that is a good deal...in addition to the stroller w second seat ($534 was the lowest price I found new) they are giving you a $30 child tray and $60 car seat adapter. Plus a parent console (prob $25-30). So $650 new for $400. I'd maybe try to negotiate down to $350 just for the hell of it. Only downfall is it looks like it is white or cream...I'd be worried about visible stains if it were me.

@mer313131 Thanks so much!  FTM here and a bit naive.  We emailed them last night offering $350, so I read your mind :)  Hoping to hear back from them today.  We felt the white was a downside too, but at the same time, we didn't really want black or a super dark color, so we aren't too upset.  Thanks for the input!!

  • We have the city select with a Graco click connect car seat and the skip hop organizer...

They just started selling the adapter for Graco Click Connect car seats in May so ours clicks right on, no straps as mentioned before.  It's awesome!

I have the stroller organizer by Dot&Dot. Found it on Amazon. It is compatible with most strollers since it has adjustable velcro straps. It has a middle compartment with magnetic closure where I put snacks or diapers, or a small toy. There's also a pocket for keys, cellphone, etc. It also has two insulated cup holders to hold the drinks.

What I also like about it is that it came with additional hooks, meaning more storage/holders for me (especially when shopping ;)) It also has additional strap that can be attached to convert it into a small diaper bag (very convenient during small trips to the grocery store).
