Kind of odd question for Moms with boys....

DS is 20 months and he sleeps with his "baby". Its one of those little stuffed animals with the blanket attached. Well he humps this thing. Usually when he falls asleep and in the morning. My husband thinks its hilarious of course and says hes just being a boy...I think its a little weird and I'm even a little embarrassed to see if anyone else's boy is doing this?

It's not weird and it's not sexual (which is why you think it's weird and embarrassing).  It feels good, plain and simple.  Would it bother you if he liked to rub his blanket on his nose to fall asleep?  All body parts are equal and fair game to a child, as they should be.  When he gets older you can address that certain part/activities are for private time only but for now you need to not put a sexual spin on a normal behavior.

DS does this with some of his lovies.  He loves stuffed animals and is very cuddly with them but sometimes he humps them.  It's really not a big deal and you shouldn't let it embarrass you.

I didn't know what to think at first, maybe embarrassed was the wrong word to use. I was kind of surprised and just a little in shock? Then again this is my first kid, I wasn't expecting the humping for a long time.

But like I said, you're thinking of it in a sexual sense and it's not because he has no concept of sexual behavior.  Something he's doing feels good.  My son likes to have his feet and back softly tickled.  Do some adults get turned on by that?  Possibly.  That's not why my son likes it though, kwim?

DS kind of "humps" stuffies and blankies in the living room.  I just ignore it.

It's totally normal…and it's not just boys. I know plenty of moms of girls who have seen the same thing.

He balls his blankies up and humps those. It is kinda funny. Then he falls asleep on top of the blankies so his tush is in the air.

My friend's daughter does this, especially when she is incredibly upset.

Maybe it's just his way of getting comfortable? My little boy doesn't do this but he grabs onto his 'winky' for dear life everytime he gets his nappy change/put in the bath/etc, I do tell him that it's not gonna go anywhere haha x
