Re: TTC Check In

  • First TTC Check In for me...

I'm 7dpo after a home ICI with frozen donor sperm. Timing seemed OK but the process was more stressful (stupid OPKs!) than previous attempts. I'm trying not to indulge in positive OR negative thinking at this point. Wife is trying to act casual but I can tell that she's (not-so) secretly making her own notes of (real or otherwise) signs.

QOTD: I need more relaxation and less procrastination in my life for sure. (File that away on a to do list. Ha.) I like yoga. Also acupuncture has turned out to be incredibly relaxing. And I have guilty pleasure TV that I pretend is learning (because it's in another language) but it's actually just mindless and relaxing in its own way.

  • Hey Everyone! So I have spent the last week in Portland, OR visiting family and friends. I decided to take a little break from The Bump and thinking about TTC, although its hard when my alarm goes off every night at 9pm for my stupid BCP :)

So far I've just been taking my BCP for almost 2 weeks along with my other vitamins. I'm scheduled to stop BCP on the 22nd and if everything looks okay I will start my injections shortly after. I placed my order with Freedom last week and will receive all my medication tomorrow. Earlier today I had my Sonohysterogram and it was painful! I don't think it was as bad earlier in the year when I had one. Thankfully it was over pretty quickly! They said everything looked great!

QOTW: I was doing acupuncture but paying out of pocket and then waiting for our insurance company to reimburse us was painful and also painful for our acupuncturist because she dropped our insurance company all together. Right now I love after dinner laying on the couch with L and watching our DVR shows. That's my favorite way to relax.

  • @TwoMomsinTX  Acupuncture seems like magic to me. I went from a 23- to 28-day cycle after three weekly visits to the acupuncturist and slight dietary changes. Add in that it's relaxing and I'm wondering why I never knew about it before TTC?! Imagine how much more zen I would have been! But yes, it's definitely pricey: £30 ($51) for a half-hour session. Soon, I will probably drop down to every 10 days instead of weekly.

As for POAS, I've hidden the tests away so as to have less temptation. I will try my best to hold out for next Monday. We'll see how good my resolve is!
  • Hi everyone!
So I just started my second week of my 2WW and I've been a wreck lol. I hate not knowing if they IUI took or not, and I'm hyper sensitive about what I'm eating and drinking, and I've become really paranoid and scatterbrained! The other day my ankles were swollen, (prob because of the heat -- but I was freaked out anyway) and yesterday I forgot my debit card at home (which I never do) and tried to purchase some stuff at the store and I couldn't. BLAH!!

    Anyway...

QOTW: I'm a big video game nerd so I relax by playing League of Legends with friends or World of Warcraft on my own until around 10:30 then watch some OITNB with T :)
    TTC History
    First IUI: 7/7/2014 - 7/21/2014 BFP!!
    8/15/14 - 7 weeks 5 days EP :(

  • I am on day 3 of the TWW.
It's pretty exciting that I can finally say that. But nerve wracking all at the same time.

Jo is convinced I'm pregnant. Although at 3 days past IUI is too soon for implantation.
Trying to not read too much into little things is hard.
I've had weird cramping on my left side, which is the side I'm pretty sure I ovulated from from the cramps I had that day, I woke up nauseous the other day and my nipples are starting to get sore, which never happens.

I can be 'glass half empty' kind of girl on many things, and I'm feeling this way about the IUI.
I know it's because I don't want to get my hopes up and then be let down. Although at the same time I really hope and think it's going to take. But who knows right?

Favourite way to relax... Watching those 'don't have to think' kind of shows. Like 'keeping up the kardashians.'

  • Today will be day 11 of stims.  I had 12 follies that were measured this morning, with most being in the 14-15 mm range.  I'm continuing with 400 iu Gonal-F, 10 units HCG and one dose of Ganirelix for tonight and tomorrow night.  Back up Wednesday morning for bw and u/s again.  He said this morning that he is anticipating that I will trigger Wednesday night for retreival on Friday.  He said that maybe it would get pushed to Saturday, but probably Friday will be the date.

I've been feeling pretty good up to this point.  I'm not sure that the Ganirelix agrees with me very well though.  I'm not uncomfortable yet, which is good.  I can feel that my ovaries are full though, especially during the u/s this morning.

QOTW:  Riding the motorcycle with C is one of the most relaxing things...until a certain point, then it is no longer comfortable.  I look forward to it as a time to clear my mind and think about everything and anything.

  • There are so many folks in the the TWW!  FX that there will be an explosion of BFPs from us all very soon.

Welcome @channe9 and @KatCraig30, thanks for joining us!

@Himee33 - my SHG was also painful.  More so afterwards than during.  All of my IUIs and my HSG came with pain after as well.

  • We had BFN over the July4 weekend. It would have been good timing for a BFP for a number of reasons but I guess it wasn't our turn. This cycle we will either try another unmedicated, knowing chances are low, or take a break.

Looking forward to hearing the next updates from the group. FX for all of you.

@StacyLH24‌ Great news about your follies! Can't wait to hear about your retrieval! The first time I had SHG I had mild cramping afterwards. Today has been super painful. Basically stayed in bed most of the day because it hurts to walk. Found some pills my RE gave me for after my first retrieval for pain, so I just took some. Hoping it helps! @Mellebee‌ So sorry to hear about your BFN!
