Summer gut

Anyone else really enjoying their summer food and drink? Holy crap, I looked down today to find I've created quite a little summer gut!! And then I got on the scale! Well, at least I've been having a good time.

    @Jags8‌ Yeah, I'm 5'1" so I hear you there! And it never seems to go somewhere pleasant like my boobs, straight to the belly.

  • I have been eating and drinking my feelings and do not even care. I drag my ass to the gym every morning and then let myself indulge. Restricting calories would only give my body more of an excuse to misbehave. >:P

    I am 5'2" so I totally understand! I've only gained 3 this Summer, but my pants are getting tight. The gut has nowhere to go but horizontal!

  • My summer gut - I've had two stomach bugs this week.  I hate food and caloric beverages.  I am, however, having a love affair with Luden's "cough drops" (glorified cherry candies).

  • I'm up 14lbs from last August. I blame Paris and the makers of Ghiradelli Chocolate Squares.

    Needless to say, I'm trying to work it off ASAP...but that's also been my goal, since, like 8 months ago so.....

    7/3: Metabolic clinic gave the green light to TTC - holy crap!
  • I gained almost 15 pounds since I got married which doesn't seem like all that much but it is when you're only 5'1" I think some people assumed I was pregnant and trying to hide it because I has bought some flowy tops to hide my midsection. I had to tell people that I was just gaining weight.
  • I'm in the same boat, I lost a decent amount of weight then got lazy when I got to my goal weight. That paired up with traveling every month since February  it's hard for me to eat right when on vacation/traveling so I'm at my highest weight right now that I have been at in a while. Summer is way harder for me because my family has more time off and that means eating bad with them and the beer is flowing pool side. I'm nervous because I'm already at a high weight and then we are leaving for vacation in two days again for 6 days so I can only imagine what will happen. Time to get strict because I would not be happy adding 20-25lbs on me if I get KTFU.

    I am 4'11" and definitely see the summer lbs adding on! Not wanting to get totally out of control, I started running last week and I already at least FEEL a little bit better. I was running 9 minute miles in March and am trying to get back to that. Right now I am doing 11 minute miles, but am getting in at least 3 miles each time I run.

    I think it is also helping to keep me sane while TTC, especially during what I think is my TWW based on my charting. I say what "I think" because I am not temping so my chart isn't as accurate as it could be.
  • I have a harder time keeping weight off in the summer, too. We spend most weekends "camping" somewhere in the RV, and we don't eat as well as we do during the week. Since we go almost every weekend, it adds up.

    Plus, it's hot as heck in Texas in the summer, and I am not able to exercise outside as much as I can during the cooler months.

  • I'm short, just like some of you, and I've gained quite a bit of weight since I met my hubby, and probably a bit more since our wedding. This video is how I feel getting into my skinny jeans! It's not in english, but this is hilarious. CLICKY HERE for the Youtube video.

    Oh man Rexie, do you live in upstate NY?? When I lived in Syracuse was the only time I ever had wine slushies at the fair and they were the best fucking thing EVAR!!!!1!!11!1!!

    TTC #1 8/2012~Chronic Pelvic Pain Condition began 10/2012~Told I was crazy by many doctors until a good specialist DXed a labral tear and bone impingement in left hip 4/2013~Surgery on left hip: 5/31/13  SUCCESS!!!  Pain flares to continue indefinitely (but mostly gone).

    Resumed TTC 6/2013~Chronic stomach pain and distension: 8/2013~TTA 1/2014 Until Resolved ~7/2014: Trip to the Mayo Clinic--SUCCESS!!  Finally on the road to getting better.

  • Yeah, I've gained almost 15 pounds in the last year or so and some people know we are TTC so I hope they don't think I have the start of a baby bump.  :-S

    I decided to take some action the start of this month so I started a 30-day ab challenge I found on Pinterest. I'm not sure if I can see much of a difference yet but I can feel that I am getting stronger, so that's a start! 

    I'm also trying to make healthier food choices and it helps that DH is now doing the same since we eat a lot of meals together. 

    You realize building those muscles will make your abs bigger, not smaller right?

    Well it's the fat pooch I'm trying to get rid of and building muscle should help burn the fat, right?

    Oh sweetie. You can't spot train away fat. And abs are small muscles. Work the bigger ones if that's what you are trying to do. You will more likely end up with bigger ab muscles and the flab (so a bigger belly) than what you are hoping for. 


    #3 and 4. I find you guilty.
