PCOS and the pill

I have my PP appointment on Tuesday. I was under the impression that bc I have PCOS, I will need to be on hormonal bc.

Is that true? With PCOS do I have a better option than the pill? I am BFing, so I would start with the mini pill. But I really don't want to take the pill for the rest of my life.

But then again, I don't think nfp would work bc of my completely wonky cycles.

But it's not just as birth control (although I'm not ready for another baby, and we are probably done with 2.) I thought with PCOS you had to be on hormonal bc to control the symptoms?

Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!

    My sisters all have pcos and are not on the pill. They manage ok one should prob go back on it as her cycles are very heavy but unless the symptoms bother you it's not a must you have to be on it.

    I was never told that. I was told I was fine being off the pill and if I wanted to conceive again it would be protocol to do a cycle of bc. I don't think it matters what kind you take other then that reason unless your trying to fix bad cramps etc. Call me neive I obviously haven't a clue.

    Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born. 

    6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived

    10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP
