Hi everyone!
My name is Jenn. My husband and I have been married for 3 1/2years. We started TTC in 2010 before we got married. In December 2011 were diagnosed with MFI. Throughout 2012 we underwent every test imaginable and 6 failed IUI's. In October 2012 we were told that the MFI was too severe and our only option was IVF. So in November 2012 we began our IVF journey. We began our first cycle of IVF in January, due to insurance reasons. On February 11, 2013 I went in for my ER and we were so excited bc the ultrasound showed 18 great follicles!!!! When I woke up from my ER the nurse said to me (in a happy voice?) "congrats you got 3 eggs!". My reaction to that was "are you F$&king kidding me??? 3 eggs? I had 18 follicles WTF?". Unfortunately I had what is called "empty follicle syndrome" which is rare. Our RE sat us down and said we needed to be prepared bc we might only get one embryo if that. We were devastated but put all our hopes and dreams in to our 3 eggs. On 2/13/13 we got "The Call". All 3 eggs had fertilized and we were told to be at the hospital first thing in the morning for a 3 day transfer! We were shocked and overjoyed! When we got to the hospital that Thursday Valentines morning we were told that we had 2 perfect 8 cell embryos and 1 8 cell embryo that had fragmentation and was not good for transferring or freezing. So we put all our hope in to our 2 perfect embryos. A very very long 9 days later I had my beta and sat by the phone all afternoon waiting for the results call. (I was supposed to have my beta at 10 days but I was going to be out of town for the day for work. My dr wanted me to wait until 11 days but I said hell no I can't wait that long!!! He said it was very early but he would do it.) At 1pm the phone rang and it was our RE. We were PREGNANT!!!!! And he was 99.9999% positive both embryos took bc at 9dp3dt my beta was 554! I went back 2 days later for a second beta and it was 2056! We got to have an ultra sound right then and their and sure enough.......FRATERNAL TWINS!!! My due date was 11/4/13 but due to serious medical complications with me at 33 weeks pregnant on September 16, 2013 at 1:56am Christina Anne and Stephen John made their appearance on the same minute! Now we have 2 beautiful healthy and on the move 10 month old twins!!!
We have decided to start TTC again starting this month. I have no frozen embryos. DH is going to have a SA done again to see if his MFI is the same or better. We decided that IVF is not an option for us again financially and medically for me. So it's the old fashion way and medicated IUI's for us!
When we first TTC it took over everything and I don't want that to happen again. We are beyond lucky and blessed to have a daughter and son and I want to enjoy every second of my babies.
Sorry for the long intro!
I'm looking forward to getting to know you ladies and your journey!!!

Re: Intro- Hello 3T CHILD SIGGY WARNING

  • Hi and welcome. Please modify your thread name to include 'children mentioned' and also something at the top of your post to warn folks of the picture of your twins. They are adorable, but folks who are having a bad IF day may want to steer clear. Many of us here are working on LO #1.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

     ****All Welcome!****

We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

I'm sorry to say this, but it has to be said. I really recommend that you remove everything in your post from "On February 11, 2013" to "Christina Anne and Stephen John made their appearance on the same minute." On a board for women struggling to conceive, most trying for their first (but not all), I doubt many of us are ready to hear the details of your pregnancy and birth, especially including the "FRATERNAL TWINS!!!" part.

I just read that whole story because we at 3T are very welcoming and want to get to know you, but I have to say I would never have expected that it was an extended-length story of success.

If you choose to keep pictures of your LOs in your siggy, you'll want a siggy warning as in this board. And to second @stacylh24, it's important to edit the title to add "child mentioned / BFP warning / siggy picture warning" something of the sort. You might want to check out the sticky thread for newbies "please read before posting."

You are very welcome to join 3T, of course. It sounds like a stressful time to be TTC again but without the option of IVF this time, and I hope we can be a great support to you. I hope YH's SA shows great improvement!

  • I'm too drunk for this...

    Ditto.

I definitely didn't expect such an excited story about a pregnancy and birth.

OP, please, at the very least, edit your title to include a warning so that more people aren't caught off-guard.

  • Wow, I have to second/third what all the other ladies have said.  Did NOT expect that and this thread definitely needed a "Child mentioned" and "siggy warning" in the title.  Having gone through IF yourself before having your twins, I am a bit surprised that you didn't realize how painful that could be for some of us.

I give you the benefit of the doubt because I'm certain you didn't intend to hurt anybody.  But if you plan to continue posting here, please understand where we are coming from on this!  Welcome and truly hope you get your BFP soon.

August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one.  Super freak out mode over surgery plan.  OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)
August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy.  Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found).  Benched x 3 months

    PAIF/SAIF welcome
