what are you reading?

Re: what are you reading?

  • @amw0914 I read Winter's Tale right when the movie came out because it sounded really interesting. But I ended up really disliking it. The author has a thing for tangents and useless information and while I found myself really interested in parts, he would go off on something else and I would lose interest again. I threw myself a little party when I finished it.

@RaeChay I love LOTR too! My mom and dad met because of Lord of the Rings in the most adorable story ever and named me after Sam. So if my baby is a girl I'm naming her Elanor after Sam's first daughter! Luckily my husband also loves LOTR and so is totally on board. :)

And currently I just started The Sphere by Michael Crichton. I just finished a really good historical fiction about Korean picture brides coming to Hawaii called Honolulu by Alan Brennert.

  • I cannot be the only one here that reads "Mommy Porn". Come on out ladies. I love all of my book boyfriends! Right now, I'm reading Hudson by Laurelin Paige, which is a follow up to the Fixed Trilogy. Not all of them are like 50 Shades, promise! ;)

  • @Hufflepuff42‌ and @gradschoolmom1234‌ and other fans of Bringing up Bebe, I also really liked Paris to the Moon by Adam Gopnik. He and his wife move to Paris with their infant daughter. A different tone than BuB, but definitely a lovely book!

A couple people on my Instagram recommended it! I also liked that one. I'm working my way through all Liane Moriarty's books and so far have enjoyed What Alice Forgot, Three Wishes, and particularly The Hypnotist's Love Story. I'm trying to pace myself and alternate with other stuff so I don't finish everything she's written too fast.

I have pretty eclectic taste -- I will read historical mystery, suspense, romance, and fantasy/urban fantasy.

I enjoyed "What Alice Forgot" too. I read another book by Liane Moriarty "The Husband's Secret" last week. I read it in a few days and enjoyed it! I like that they are light reading. I don't have time or mental space for anything else right now.

  • I am reading a book called The Last Minute, it is a follow up book to Adrenaline, by Jeff Abbott.  (I got Adrenaline, because it was on the dollar rack in my nook) It turned out to be pretty good. I DID like Gone Girl, but wanted my money back after reading My Husband's Secret. I called pretty much the whole thing.  I read a lot of VC Andrews (Flowers in the Attic) when i was in high school.  They are all dramatic and twisted.

  • I'm reading the Walking Dead comics. Never did I think that I would do that...
