Which girl name do you like better?

I can't believe I'm even considering another name! I've been sold on a name from the start but probably now just getting bored and wondering if I should consider other. 

Current name: 

Lucy Kay (middle name is DH's moms)

Possible consideration for new name:

Violet Elaine (middle name is mine, moms and grandmas)

I like both, but if I had to pick I would choose Violet Elaine, keep the tradition going.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion but if both middle names are important to you, use them both. My daughter has two middle names for this reason. We have a middle name (Christine) that is passed on to every first born daughter but I also knew it would mean so much to my husbands family if we put their running girl name as well (June, three generations). I have never regretted my choice and my daughters name flows very nicely.

I love the name Lucy. I think it's awesome.
I would have a hard time not using Elaine though since it's been going for 3 generations already. That's a tough one.....

I like Lucy Kay. To me Lucy speaks of a spunky sweet little girl and violet makes me think of a solem little girl.

I have 3 middle names (indecisive mother), so I support using both middle names, especially because they both mean so much.

I like Lucy Kay as well.  I agree with PPs, if there are family traditions involved, why not have 2 middle names.

Thanks all! I've just been lurking and taking it all in! I didn't know violet was a popular name now until I opening a thread that was right below mine that said it was really popular now?? Hmmm, lots of food for thought. I asked my husband and he likes Lucy a lot better so i guess I will have to take that into consideration...

Interesting how many suggested two names-I hadn't thought they flowed right for that but may reconsider.
