Hello ladies! I've been seriously thinking of doing a big career change. I'm currently in the Air Force and I hate it. I've been in for about 6 years and it's just not for me but the benefits are really good. I want to get out and be a sahm until I finish my BA(I've got about 1.5 years until I'm done). DH is super supportive of what ever I end up choosing to do. I plan on meeting with a financial advisor to see how our finances would be with me not getting a paycheck anymore.
Have any of you gone through a big career change? Any advice or tips?
Thanks!

Resumed TTC 7/2014! Third time's the charm....8/2014 Visited the RE~DX: MFI/low morph~Straight to IVF with ICSI! 9/2014~Transferred 1 perfect beautiful 6AA blast with 10 to freeze!!!~10/8/2014: BFP!!!! EDD: 6/17/15 STICK LITTLE BEAN!!! IT'S A BOY!!!!!
Would staying in until you finish your BA defray the costs a bit? (I don't see if you already have a child you'd like to be a SAHP to yet) Would you have to use your GI Bill to pay for the 1.5 years that are left if you got out?
All of that being said, I'm someone who went from working really hard at jobs that I wasn't wild about and standing on my own two feet for years, to being a SAHW when we moved this time for H's job. At the time, we thought kids would be pretty imminent, so it made sense. Now that kids have not been as quick coming, we're adjusting. It gets lonely, and it does get boring. But, we both think our lives are much better with me at home. It is a bit more tricky financially, and we have to budget well to make sure we're getting the most we can in savings and retirement, but it works for us.

I would be using my GI bill. I think I'm trying to decide if I should just wait the next year and a half out and just finish my degree. It is so hard to stay somewhere where I'm unhappy all the time. It is really starting to drain my energy.
Thanks for the feedback
