CD fails and cocktails

Fail-I was putting M's poop in the toilet...and was holding him at the same time so was standing to plop it (yay for ploppable). The poop smushed and was stuck inside the bowl. Even two flushes wouldn't unstick it. Lol Cocktail-COFFEE, because it's morning, yo

Fail: I have failed to try out our new Milovia, because MIL is visiting and wants to do ALL the diaper changes, and I want to be the first to put the Milovia on DS. So I've had to hide the Milovia.

Cocktail: a pint of Young's Bitter. One of the pubs around the corner has recently renovated so we went over there to check out the new decor. They opened up some walls and put in at least one new bathroom, including a baby change table. Yay!

Fail: I have 2...
1- DH does the CD laundry and this week only washed the peed in diapers (poop/rinsed ones are kept in a bathroom next to the sprayer) .
2 I was soaking the inserts from ds2's overnight diaper rather than rinsing them out. Ds2 flushed the toilet when I wasn't paying attention and now I'm down a hemp insert

Cocktails-
I'm working today but last night it was a tasty Mai Tai.

Fail from a month or so ago...DS1 managed to soak through a diaper about 30 minutes before bedtime. I had no diapers downstairs, and I was too tired to walk upstairs and back down since we'd be doing it again so soon. I'd been prepping DS2's NB stash that day, so I improvised with a size 1 Applecheeks and two NB inserts of unknown origin. DS1 is nearly 30 pounds if not more, so the AC was hanging on by one snap at each hip, but it got us through the remainder of the evening.

Cocktail: The closest I can get to one right now is my Peach Bellini candle. I miss booze.

Fail: we were sitting on the floor to do a quick diaper change and P decided to try to climb over my leg and scraped his face on the fire place. He will have his 1st black eye for his birthday. This was all happening while I was trying to change the fill valve on our toilet and could not stop the leaking. not nessisarily CD fail, but a diaper fail none the less.

Fail: DH didn't change Raegan's diaper right away after her nap yesterday and she peed while sitting on the couch. :-( Now we have a large stain right in the middle of the chaise.

Cocktail: DH and I just shared a pint of Weihenstephaner Original. Oldest brewery in the world. Pretty tasty stuff :-)

Not all of them (on diapers have a bamboo and Joey bunz hemp that we cut in half). The bamboo got stuck but the hemp was gone. It slipped through first I guess. No more soakings for me.

Fail: I packed fitteds to use overnight during our trip this weekend, but I didn't pack any wool or covers. Luckily, I always have Flips in the diaper bag.

Cocktail: It's 90F where we are this weekend so I've had a couple iced lattes today. We'll have some IPAs once DH finished racing for the day.

If you had a Diaper Duck you could clip your inserts to it while they are soaking. It does a great job of holding onto stuff. I think I got one from Nicki's Diapers. I think.

I thought of another... Last week we were at a friend's house when I realized I hadn't brought any cloth diapers. We had one lonely disposable at the bottom of the diaper bag. I pulled it out and realized it had cracker crumbs all in it! I started to put it on DS and then realized I had it backwards. I finally got it on him right and we drove home for dinner. After he finished eating, he was playing in the kitchen, zooming around in his normal fashion. Suddenly he stopped and got very quiet. I turned around to find that his shorts had completely landed around his feet. He was frozen to the spot with a look of complete confusion and slight fear on his face. I laughed so hard I couldn't bend over to help him. Thankfully DH stepped in.

My diaper fail was just forgetting a wetbag when I went to visit a friend with a newborn. But the funny part was her responses. It went like this:

Friend: I'll change P
Me: ok, but I use cloth.
F: oh that's all you then. But cool, show me how they work.
M: ok. Oh crap, I forgot a wetbag.
F: it's ok, I have a trash can.
M: well, I'd like to keep my blueberry paisley, so.... No trash can thanks. Oh, and I didn't grabs wipes out of my bag.
F: it's ok, I have wipes. Oh, unless you use some fancy cloth wipes too.
M: I'll go get them.

I didn't convert her, but she agreed they were cute and her mom was interested in the materials and how they work.

Cocktail: shiner bock with old chocolate chip cookies. Awwww yeah!

Not a CDR fail, but last night when DH was loading the dishwasher, I caught him using Washing Soda instead of dishwasher detergent. Thankfully he said had only done it once before.

I have a new cd fail....ds goes to a therapy/respite care place a couple hours a day 1-3 times per week. Today, they changed him into a Thirsties pocket with just the hemp insert. Normally he's fine with just the one insert. Today, his whole outfit was soaked when he woke up from the two hour nap he had when we got home. When I looked at his diaper I couldn't help but laugh. The insert is a bit long for the current rise setting so I have it folded in front. Somehow, they had gotten the part that is folded over out of the pocket and instead of tucking it back into the pocket, they just folded it over the outside front of the diaper after putting the diaper on. Serious wicking happened here.

Today when I walked into DS's room after his nap, he said, "Ta-Dah!" and flashed me his junk. He was quite proud that he'd figured out how to unsnap his diaper. I guess that was the last of the no-pants naps.

I went to get DS this morning, and found he had taken the dirty diapers out of the wetbag. Gross. Guess I'll be taking that out of his room...

Or hang it up higher, like on an over-the-door hook.

I did try that at one point... I was afraid of the weight of the diapers pulling the closet door off the track, and I didn't like it on his bedroom door. Right now I just may take it out during nap and bedtime, since that's when he's mostly in his room alone as it is.
