Hi, I'm new here

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to be here introducing myself.  DH and I were trying for number 2 and I got a BFP on 6/16/14.  I had been charting and using OPKs, so I was sure of my ovulation date, which was June 4.  This timing matched up with my first positive pregnancy test on 12 DPO.

Well, I had my first ultrasound yesterday and immediately knew something was wrong when the ultrasound tech told me I was measuring only 5w6d (should have been 7w1d based on ovulation date).  There was no heartbeat.  Ultrasound tech wasn't immediately concerned initially because she just figured I ovulated late and had my dates off.  I knew that was not possible.  I was sent for blood work but was already feeling pretty pessimistic about this pregnancy being viable.

My progesterone came back today and it was only 5.  I had some very light spotting (practically imperceptible - not sure I would have even noticed if I wasn't particularly paying attention).  My doctor wants to see if I will pass the pregnancy naturally.  I am having some cramping and some pretty bad lower back pain but no more spotting at this point.  I hate waiting and just want it to be done with.  I spoke with my doctor and, thankfully, she is on call this weekend.  She asked me to call tomorrow morning between 10 am and noon to check in and see how I'm doing.

So that's my intro.  I have to say I had hoped I'd never been on this board, but I'm looking forward to getting to know you ladies nonetheless.  I am doing fine as long as I keep myself distracted, but if I have too much time to think, I just start crying again.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm new to this board too. My mc in May sounds very similar to yours. My measurements were off and they also told me I ovulated late but I knew that couldn't be right. I was 7 weeks too and my ob said I had a good chance of naturally passing since I was having spotting and cramping off and on. Only a few days later I did pass everything on my own.

Thanks lalove23.  That is good to hear that you started passing the pregnancy on your own.  I'm hoping that my wait isn't too long and also that I don't end up with a D&C.

Nothing has really changed since Friday. Back pain and very light, very occasional spotting but that's it. Went back to repeat blood work this AM so we will see what the results are. I'm supposed to talk to my OB tomorrow about next steps. This weekend was a little rough at times - ended up having to leave the room when my MIL and the sister of my BIL's wife ended up having a conversation about her pregnancy - she is about 12/13 weeks and just starting to tell people.

It doesn't help that I'm still feeling some nausea. Wish the pregnancy symtoms would just go away.

I just found out today that I am going to miscarry. My story is very similar. I'm 9 weeks pregnant but baby was measuring at 6 weeks last week. It doesn't add up because I chart and use the OPK kits, so I know when I ovulated. We had 2 ultrasounds- one last week and the week before. Both showed good growth and good fetal heartbeats. Today we went in for a third ultrasound. It showed no further growth and no heartbeat. I am going to have a D&C Friday. It really stinks as we had been trying for a year. Hopefully we get our sticky beans soon! Did your doctor tell you to wait 3 months?

Thanks, ladies.  I talked to my doctor today after getting back more blood work. My HCG only increased by 1000 between last Thursday and yesterday (Monday).  I am going in for an ultrasound tomorrow and then meeting with my OB to decide whether to do a D&C or not.  I have a trip planned for this weekend - I'm taking my three-year-old to visit my family in Ohio and my husband is not coming, and we are flying.  I really can't be incapacitated this weekend.  I'm leaning towards doing a D&C Thursday, which is the day my OB is in the hospital so she could do it.  But I'll make a definite decision tomorrow.
