Duvet cover with no top sheet or with a top sheet?

If you use a duvet (and a duvet cover), do you still use a top sheet, or just use the duvet cover and wash it regularly? I'm thinking about doing skipping the top sheet for DD. They do this in Germany, and it was comfortable, and the bed was reallly easy to make. 

I know this is lame for a Friday night

    Really?? I can't sleep w/o a top sheet! DH has been stealing the sheet lately but shoving the quilt to my side bc he gets too hot. I've tried just sleeping under the quilt and not yanking the sheet back but I just can't...

    Top sheet for sure!

    I get too hot at night but hate sleeping with nothing and then, on super cool nights, I like being able to pull the duvet up when needed. I also like the thread count of my sheets much more than of my duvet. ;)

    This word for word. I used to never use a top sheet. With a down comforter though, it gets SO hot in there and sometimes I have to kick the comforter off for a while so I don't melt into a puddle.

    Ew we have a top sheet because we MUST for DH. It's really all he sleeps with. I used the comforter and sleep on top of the top sheet.

    We have never used a top sheet. I mean it's on the bed, but we never untuck it.

    Oh and DS HATES his top sheet. He rolls it in a ball and tosses it on the top bunk.

    For dh and I we use a top sheet. I used to hate it growing up but now it doesn't bother me. I'd rather wash a sheet than take the duvet cover off and on all the time!
    DS doesn't use a top sheet though just his duvet & cover. However he almost always pulls that off too!
