Anyone had/have BV?

Ugh what I thought was another UTI was bacterial vaginitis. I am now taking Flagyl (metronidazole) for a week. My OB has said it is safe, just wondering if anyone else has taken it.

Yup, at 20 weeks.  I made sure to take it with food but it still gave me some nausea in the mornings. 

My doctor also said "no pantyliners and wear underwear as little as possible" from now on and if I am wearing it, cotton only.  I now just skip the undies at night.  I can't go commando all day!

I have for a UTI, completely safe and yes - take with food.

The only thing I remember from my pharmacy tech days is "absolutely no alcohol". My pharmacist would warn people that even the amount of alcohol you absorb from mouthwash is enough to affect some people. She used to joke that the nausea/vomiting was "just-let-me-die" level for those who actually had an alcoholic beverage while they were on it. Not that you need to worry about that.

Yes, have taken it. It is very effective and safe. Do drink lots of water and try to eat a light meal before taking as it can cause nausea when taken on empty stomach.

Thanks ladies!!! Yes I have learned from this morning that I need to take it on a very full stomach. Yikes! Hope you are all feeling better.
