Trying to Get Pregnant

Intro: TTC #2

Hey all! We're ready to get back on the TTC horse and try for #2.

A little about us....
DH and I have been married for going on 5 years. We've been together for 12. We started TTC #1 in Nov. '11 and had a few bumps in the road. We finally got our BFP Oct '12. Our beautiful little boy was born 6/15/13 and he is such a joy. Many times I've told myself that it took us so long to conceive b/c we were waiting for Wyatt to be ready to be born.

I'm really crossing my fingers that things go smoother this time around. I am currently on CD30 and waiting to O or for AF to show up.

Looking forward to getting to know you ladies!

    Welcome.

ETA- it can take a healthy couple a year to get pregnant. 11 months is completely normal and not really "so long."
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.

  • Oh I'm well aware it can take that long, but it doesn't mean it doesn't feel like a very long 11 months. Especially when there are hiccups and unexpected hurdles.

  • natalie115  Welcome!  I love your thoughts about why it took the time it did for your sons birth!  I do suggest you read the newby post and educate yourself on charting.  Most here use fertility friend and chart their temperature along with secondary fertility signs.  Best wishes for a happy journey!
  • Welcome and good luck to you!

  • Welcome.  I also suggest temping/charting.  I was stupid enough to wait until this month (cycle 14TTC) to start and I'm kicking myself in the ass.  Also, I completely understand how long 11 months can feel.  Hang in there and do everything you can to educate yourself about your body during this time.  Empowerment feels awesome!

  • Thanks for the welcome ladies! I do chart, I did it the entire 11 months we TTC #1 and started again once my IUD was out. My body has had trouble ovulating in the past and with a blocked tube, while it is possible for me to ovulate every month it's unlikely. I know you guys get a lot of newbs around here who haven't learned about charting and all that jazz, but I've BTDT :) I even managed to read Taking Charge Of Your Fertility which while super informative isn't exactly a page turner LOL Anyway I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!
